NORMAN, Okla. -- The Butler, Detroit and Valparaiso men's golf teams were recognized for their hard work off the links as the Horizon League programs were three of 104 programs named to the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) All-Academic Team.

The 104 teams came from not only the NCAA Division I ranks, but also Division II and III, NAIA, NJCAA DI and NJCAA D2. Among the honored teams, 59 were from Division I.

To be eligible for GCAA All-Academic Team honors a college of university must submit the grade points earned and hours attempted for each player on its official squad list for the academic year.

Last year, Detroit was honored by the GCAA for having one of the 10 highest Division I team grade point averages in the nation.
