The 10^th annual Sears BracketBusters, a three-day men’s college basketball event pitting potential NCAA Championship hopefuls against each other Feb. 17-19, will feature 13 nationally televised games – on either ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU or ESPN3. The hopefuls will be selected from a pool of 142 teams from 16 conferences, the largest Sears BracketBusters pool in the event’s history.

INDIANAPOLIS -- Cleveland State senior Allison Craine (Austintown, Ohio) and Butler sophomore Callum Hawkins (Glasgow, Scotland) have been named Horizon League Runners of the Week, for the week of Sept. 19-Sept. 25. 

INDIANAPOLIS -- Cleveland State senior forward Nancy Newcomer (Parma Heights, Ohio) has been named Horizon League Women’s Soccer Player of the Week, for the week beginning Sept. 5.  The honor is the first of Newcomer’s career.

Milwaukee has generated the majority of headlines throughout the women's soccer world, and deservedly so. However, several teams in the Horizon League are gearing up for the conference season with strong play in non-conference action, setting themselves up to challenge the 11-time regular season champions.

INDIANAPOLIS -- Milwaukee senior Kerri Schuh has been named Horizon League Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week, while Cleveland State senior Megan Barhorst has earned Defensive Player of the Week honors for the period of Aug. 29-Sept. 4.

The College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) has recognized the Green Bay men's and women's swimming and diving teams, the UIC women's swimming and diving team and the Cleveland State women's swimming and diving team for their success in the classroom during the 2010-11 season. All four squads earned the CSCAA's Team Scholar All-America Award, which is presented to college swimming and diving teams which have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

INDIANAPOLIS -- Three-time defending Horizon League champion Milwaukee was a near-unanimous choice to collect a fourth consecutive League crown, receiving seven first-place votes to sit atop the women’s soccer preseason poll. The Panthers earned the top spot with 63 points in voting conducted of the League’s nine head coaches. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own squad.
