UW-Milwaukee Panthers
(9-4-3 overall, 6-0-1 Horizon League)
Friday's win was the 100th of Michael Moynihan's coaching career. The program record-holder in wins since No. 47, he is just the fourth coach in school history to reach 100 soccer victories.
The Panthers finished their League slate unbeaten (6-0-1) for the second-straight year, the fifth time in six seasons and the sixth time overall. Only one other current league team has had an unbeaten league season (Butler, 1995, 6-0-0).
Erin Kane picked up her school record-tying eight shutout of the season Friday. In addition to doubling the previous freshmanrecord for shutouts (4), she also surpassed frosh marks for wins, starts, minutes played and remains well on pace to break the mark for GAA.

Green Bay, Wis. - No Limits! A Celebration of Women and Girls in Sports has announced Carol Hammerle, who served as head coach of the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay women's basketball team for 25 seasons, as its Eternal Flame Award winner. The Eternal Flame award recognizes a woman in Northeast Wisconsin who has supported or contributed significantly to girls and/or women in sports.

Her teams posted 21 consecutive winning seasons, 12 20-win campaigns and won nine conference titles. Hammerle's 1992 squad earned a berth in the WNIT, while her 1994 and 1998 teams made NCAA tournament appearances, the latter in her final season guiding the Phoenix.

Her 500th career win came on Feb. 2, 2002 in a 63-42 NIU victory over Akron. INDIANAPOLIS -- Sometimes, wins and losses are a matter of perspective. For the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, a tie and a win were not enough to keep the Panthers in the national top 25 according to the Soccer America polls. But that 1-0 victory over previously 22nd-ranked Northern Illinois on Sunday (Oct. 16) impressed the voters in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, who granted UWM a share of 25th position in their survey Tuesday (Oct. 18).
The Panthers' 8-2-4 overall ledger includes a five-match unbeaten streak which features five consecutive shutouts. The only blemish in that 4-0-1 run (since Oct. 2) was a 0-0 draw with the University of Illinois at Chicago on Wednesday (Oct. 13).
UW-Milwaukee finished 2004 ranked 24th in the nation after reaching the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The Panthers defeated the University of San Francisco, 3-2, before falling, 2-1, in overtime to then-top-ranked Santa Clara University. This year's edition features freshman goalkeeper Grant Fernstrum, who ranks second in the nation with a 0.26 goals-against average. In addition, junior midfielder Craig Mallace leads the League in scoring with 17 points (four goals plus nine assists).
