Jennifer Feldott, a retired veteran on the LPGA Tour and a graduate of the University of Missouri, has been tabbed as Loyola University Chicago's women's golf head coach, Director of Athletics John Planek announced today. She replaces Nate Miklos, who resigned to pursue other interests at the end of the 2004-05 season.
"Jennifer's experiences as a student athlete, member of the LPGA, and teaching pro will be a tremendous asset for her as she begins her coaching career at Loyola University," Planek said. " Her abilities as a player certainly will provide a great example to our women golfers."
After attending Missouri to study business and play on the softball team, Feldott walked on to the Tigers' golf team and eventually played her way into the No. 1 position in the lineup. The first Missouri women's golfer to become a LPGA Tour member, Feldott posted five career top 10 finishes as a professional as she competed in 105 tournaments worldwide, including the U.S. Open, LPGA Championship and British Open to name a few.
"I am very excited about the opportunity to coach the student-athletes at a prestigious university such as Loyola," Feldott said. "I am eager to pass on the wealth of golf knowledge and life skills I have developed over the last 15 years and I look forward to developing a successful and winning tradition."

Former University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee soccer standout Tony Sanneh will be a part of the U.S. Men's National Team during the upcoming 2005 CONCACAF Gold Cup.
Sanneh, who has made 41 previous appearances with the national team, is one of 23 players selected for next month's event by manager Bruce Arena.
Sanneh was one of the stars of the U.S. side during the 2002 World Cup, when the U.S. advanced to the quarterfinals. He has battled injuries in recent seasons, limiting his time with the national squad, but has returned to full health while playing for the Chicago Fire in MLS.
The St. Paul, Minn., native was UWM's all-time leading goal scorer until Antou Jallow moved past him during the 2004 season. He still holds school career records for assists (32) and points (138) and was an All-America honoree during his time with the Panthers. Since leaving the school, Sanneh has played for DC United and the Chicago Fire in MLS and for Hertha Berlin and FC Nurnberg in the German Bundesliga. Sanneh made his first appearance with the U.S. National Team in 2000 and has scored three goals in his 41 appearances, earning starting honors during the2002 World Cup.

Butler track and cross country standout Andrew Sherman has been named to the 2005 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America team selected by CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America). He was one of 15 student-athletes named first team on the Men's University Division Cross Country/Track & Field honor squad.
Sherman, a graduate student majoring in education, was one of the top middle distance runners in the Horizon League this spring. He was named the 2005 Horizon League Indoor Track Athlete of the Year, after he won the 800 meter run and placed second in the 1500 meter run at the 2005 Horizon League Indoor Track and Field Championship. He broke Butler's 800 meter record during the 2005 outdoor season twice!
The talented Butler runner also was named MVP of the Bulldogs' cross country team, which placed fourth at the 2004 NCAA Division I Championship. He won the individual title at the 2004 Horizon League Cross Country Championship.
Sherman is a two-time Horizon League Academic All-League performer. He's the third member of Butler's track and field squad to be named Academic All-America this year, joining women runners Victoria Mitchell and Monica Behney. Mitchell earned second team Academic All-America recognition, while Behney was picked to the third team.

CHICAGO (June 15, 2005) -- Loyola University Chicago has appointed Marcie Bomhack as the seventh head women's volleyball coach in program history, Director of Athletics John Planek announced today. Bomhack, a graduate of Notre Dame, served as the head coach of both the men's and women's volleyball teams at Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee, Wis. last year after a stellar playing career for the Fighting Irish.
"I am extremely happy to announce Marcie as the next volleyball coach at Loyola," said Planek. "Her accomplishments as both a player and a young coach are impressive and, with all of the connections she has in the Midwest, I am confident that she will be able to continue that success here."
"I would like to thank John Planek for giving me the opportunity to be the head women's volleyball coach at Loyola University," said Bomhack. "Loyola has a great academic and athletic reputation, as well as a beautiful campus. I am very excited to be a part of the Rambler athletic tradition and look forward to building upon the previous success of the women's volleyball program. I am committed to helping the players succeed both on the court and in the classroom and I believe my background as a volleyball player and coach at the college and professional level will help me to lead the program in the right direction."
In just one season, Bomhack had a profound affect on the Cardinal Stritch volleyball programs, guiding the women's team to its first-ever appearance in the conference tournament while helping the men's team to a conference title and consistent top-10 appearances in the national rankings. Prior to taking over the reins at Cardinal Stritch, Bomhack served as the head freshman volleyball coach at Catholic Memorial High School and spent three years as the head coach of the Milwaukee Sting Junior Olympic Volleyball Club.

Senior Victoria Mitchell capped off a brilliant track career at Butler University by winning an individual national title in the women's 3,000 meter steeplechase at the 2005 NCAA Division I Track and Field Championship in Sacramento, Calif., on Friday, June 10. The individual crown was the first for a Butler track athlete in 73 years!
Mitchell paced the steeplechase field in 9:54.32. It was the second-best time in the event by a Division I athlete this year, trailing only the school-record 9:53.24 effort that Mitchell posted last month at the Minnesota Distance Invitational. The talented Butler runner finished five seconds ahead of runner-up Cassie Hunt of Illinois. Hunt had edged Mitchell for the steeplechase title at the Mideast Regional two weeks ago.
The national title was Butler's first since 1932, when Bert Nelson won the men's high jump at the NCAA Championship. Mitchell, who earned All-America honors with an eighth place finish in the steeplechase last year, becomes the first female athlete in Butler history to win a national championship.
