The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's basketball team will play at the University of Memphis in a first-round Preseason National Invitation Tournament game to start the 2005-06 season.
The contest, one of eight first-round games in the 16-team event, is set for Nov. 15. This will mark UWM's first appearance in the Preseason NIT and the regular season debut of new head coach Rob Jeter.
The game is one of the marquee contests in the tournament's opening round, with both teams having qualified for the post-season a year ago and both teams expected to compete for their respective league crowns in 2005-06.

Louisville 19, Wright State 2
Louisville, KY - The Wright State baseball team had its three-game winning streak snapped by Louisville Monday. The Raiders allowed 13 hits and walked 15 batters in the 19-2 loss to Louisville.
Getting the start for the Green and Gold was Nate Stevens who surrendered five runs on three hits and walked two batters before he could record an out. Stevens, now 2-6 on the season, was relieved by Chris Nighland who walked two and retired three batters to finish the first inning.

What do you feel is your biggest accomplishment throughout your collegiate career on the field and in the classroom?
In both cases, it was probably getting back from my medical leave. After having to withdraw from softball and school in the fall of 2003, it's been a long recovery, but I feel like I'll be completely cleared medically this summer. I feel like my studies and softball are finally back to where they were before dealing with encephalitis.

Green Bay, Wis. - After defeating No. 5 Detroit 10-1 in five innings, UW-Green Bay twice defeated No. 2 Cleveland State in extra innings, topping the Vikings 3-1 in eight innings and 2-1 in 10 innings to take the League title and advance to its first ever NCAA tournament.

No. 2 UW-Green Bay advanced into the semifinals of the loser's bracket with a 2-1 victory over No. 4 Loyola on Friday at the Ashwaubenon Sports Complex in Green Bay, Wis.
Loyola took an 1-0 lead in the second inning on a Raven Gengler solo shot to center field, but the Phoenix retaliated with two-runs in the bottom of third when Dana Brockman scored on a wild pitch and Stephanie Hansen singled to left field to knock in Rebekah Oestreich to push the score to 2-1.

No. 7 Wright State advanced into the second round of the loser's bracket with a 7-5 victory over No. 5 Butler on Friday at a wet Ashwaubenon Sports Complex in Green Bay, Wis. The contest was halted twice due to poor playing conditions.
After the Bulldogs jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first, the Raiders took a 4-2 lead in the third inning on a unearned run by Mary Jane D'Arcy and a Kristen Farley two-RBI ground-rule double.
Wright State tacked on two more runs in the fourth, but Butler fired back with three runs in the bottom half of the inning to close the Raider lead to 6-5. The score would remain the same until WSU added an insurance run in the top of the seventh on a Stephanie Salas solo shot to left center. Jessica Lander closed out the Bulldogs in the bottom half to pick up the save, while Amanda Cody (6-13) earned the win after striking out seven and scattering only two hits.

No. 2 UW-Green Bay picked up the most impressive win on the day by eliminating No. 1 UIC with a 5-3 victory under the lights on Friday evening at the Ashwaubenon Sports Complex in Green Bay, Wis.
The Phoenix came out of the gates quickly as Rebekah Oestreich homered in the first at-bat of the game. UW-Green Bay tacked on two more runs in the first inning to increase its lead to 3-0. The Phoenix increased their lead to 5-0 in the top of the fifth on a pair of RBI doubles by Dana Brockman and Oestreich.
