INDIANAPOLIS – For the 16^th straight season, the UIC women’s tennis team earned the top seed for the Horizon League Tennis Championship, while on the men’s side, Wright State claims the No. 1 seed for the first time in program history.

INDIANAPOLIS -- Wright State senior Martin Arguello (Foz do Iguaca, Brazil) has been named the Horizon League Men’s Tennis Athlete of the Week, while UIC senior Teona Tsertsvadze (Tbilisi, Georgia) has earned Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week honors, for the week of April 9-15. The accolade is the second of the year for both Arguello and Tsertsvadze.

INDIANAPOLIS -- Detroit junior Cesar Escobar Serrano (Merliot, El Salvador) and Green Bay senior Paul Swanson (Coon Rapids, Minn.) have been named Horizon League Men’s Tennis Co-Athletes of the Week, while Cleveland State sophomore Kara Sherwood (Mentor, Ohio) has earned Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week honors, for the week of April 2-8. .The accolade is the second of the year for Swanson, while Serrano and Sherwood earn the honor for the first time this season.

INDIANAPOLIS -- Green Bay senior Paul Swanson (Coon Rapids, Minn.) has been named Horizon League Men’s Tennis Athlete of the Week, while UIC senior Mariya Kovaleva (Almaty, Kazakhstan) has earned Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week honors, for the week of March 26-April 1. The accolade is the first of the year for Swanson and second for Kovaleva.

INDIANAPOLIS -- Butler freshman Austin Woldmoe (Fishers, Ind.) has been named Horizon League Men’s Tennis Athlete of the Week, while Detroit senior Amanda Cornwell (Waterford, Mich.) has earned Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week honors, for the week of March 19-25. The accolade is the first of the year for both players.

 



INDIANAPOLIS – University of Illinois-Chicago’s Jana Knoppe and Loyola’s Ben Averkamp have been named the Horizon League Scholar-Athletes of the Month for the month of February.

INDIANAPOLIS -- Valparaiso sophomore Eric Honert (Arvada, Colo.) has been named Horizon League Men’s Tennis Athlete of the Week, while Cleveland State junior Nicole Janek (Clarkston, Mich.) has earned Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week honors, for the week of March 12-18. The accolade is the first of the year for Honert, while Janek is receiving the honor for the second time in 2012.

INDIANAPOLIS -- Wright State sophomore Hayden Joblin (Brooklyn, New Zealand) has been named Horizon League Men’s Tennis Athlete of the Week for the week of March 5-11. The honor is the second of the year for Joblin.

INDIANAPOLIS -- Wright State freshman Lauri Makikalli (Hyvinkaa, Finland) has been named Horizon League Men’s Tennis Athlete of the Week, while Milwaukee freshman Christina Colarossi (Dearborn Heights, Mich.) has earned Horizon League Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week honors, for the week of Feb. 20-26.
