INDIANAPOLIS -- Green Bay freshman Michael Tenzer (Neuried, Germany) has been named Horizon League Men’s Tennis Athlete of the Week, while Cleveland State junior Nicole Janek (Clarkston, Mich.) has earned Horizon League Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week honors, for the week of Feb. 13-19.

INDIANAPOLIS -- Cleveland State senior Yannick Goossens (The Hague, Netherlands) has been named Horizon League Men’s Tennis Athlete of the Week, while UIC senior Mariya Kovaleva (Almaty, Kazakhstan) has earned Horizon League Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week honors, for the week of Feb. 6-12.

INDIANAPOLIS -- Valparaiso junior Chris Baum (Charlotte, N.C.) has been named Horizon League Men’s Tennis Athlete of the Week, while UIC sophomore Jana Knoppe (Ihringen, Germany) has earned Horizon League Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week honors, for the week of Jan. 30-Feb. 5.

INDIANAPOLIS -- Green Bay junior Craig Cox (Surrey, England) has been named Horizon League Men’s Tennis Athlete of the Week, while Milwaukee junior Maddy Soule (New Braunfels, Texas) has earned Horizon League Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week honors, for the week of Jan. 23-29.

INDIANAPOLIS -- Wright State sophomore Hayden Joblin (Brooklyn, New Zealand) has been named Horizon League Men’s Tennis Athlete of the Week, while Wright State freshman Alex Bastock (Hudson, Ohio) has earned Horizon League Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week honors, for the week of Jan. 16-22.

DETROIT -- University of Detroit Mercy Director of Athletics and Associate Vice President Keri Gaither has announced that Pjotrs Necajevs has been named the head coach of the Titan women's tennis program. This marks the eighth time a head coach has been named since the inaugural year of Detroit women's tennis in 1992-93.

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- The Green Bay women’s tennis team has a new leader as Sara Schubring has been hired as the fourth head coach in the program’s 36-year history, Green Bay Athletics announced on Wednesday. Schubring is a USPTA certified tennis professional at Western Racquet and Fitness and brings 16 years of coaching and instructing experience to the Phoenix.

INDIANAPOLIS -- Butler men’s basketball standout Matt Howard (Connersville, Ind./Connersville) and women’s basketball star Kayla Tetschlag (Sheboygan, Wis./North) of Green Bay have been named the recipients of the Horizon League’s 2010-11 Cecil N. Coleman Medal of Honor. Howard was the unanimous choice on the men’s ballot, while Tetschlag appeared on every women’s ballot cast.

INDIANAPOLIS -- 89 student-athletes were selected across eight sports based on their successes in competition and in the classroom, as the Horizon League announced its 2011 Spring Academic All-League Teams. Student-athlete nominees were voted upon by by the League’s faculty athletics representatives and sports information directors.

INDIANAPOLIS – On the strength of six Horizon League postseason championships, Butler University has won the James J. McCafferty Trophy as the Horizon League’s all-sports champion for the second straight year and the eighth time overall. For the Bulldogs, their eighth title snaps a tie with former League members Notre Dame and Oral Roberts.
