Taking a 1-0 lead midway through the first half, it looked as if Loyola's defense would help them to a first round upset over Bradley in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Instead, two second half goals sent Bradley past the Ramblers, 2-1, at Shea Field on Thursday.

After knocking off the top three seed in the Horizon League Men's Soccer Tournament, it is clear that not much phases the League champion Loyola Ramblers. Loyola will look to carry that poise downstate, when they meet Bradley in the first round of the NCAA Men's Soccer Tournament Thursday at 8 p.m. ET.

VALPARAISO, Ind. -- Loyola had just two shots on goal, but made the last one count, becoming the first No. 6 seed to win the Horizon League Men's Soccer Championship, beating Wright State, 1-0, in overtime at Brown Field.

In two thrilling matches, Wright State and Loyola emerged on the winning side of the ledger, setting up a showdown for the Horizon League Men's Soccer Championship. At the beginning of the season, the two teams were pegged to finish in the bottom two spots on the League ladder.

Shutouts by Peter McKeown and Ryan Wehking lifted Loyola and Green Bay into the semifinals of the Horizon League Men's Soccer Tournament on Tuesday, with McKeown's Loyola Ramblers knocking off Cleveland State, 1-0, while the Green Bay Phoenix controlled their match in a 2-0 victory over UIC.

The Horizon League Men's Soccer Tournament gets underway on Tuesday night, with both first round matches available to fans on the Horizon League Network. In the night's opener, No. 3 Cleveland State welcomes No. 6 Loyola to Krenzler Field at 7 p.m. ET. One hour later, fans can catch fifth-seeded UIC's trip to No. 4 Green Bay, live at 8 p.m. ET.

INDIANAPOLIS -- Butler’s Brandon Fricke, who completed his first season as a starting defender for the Bulldogs, has been named to the 11-player Capital One Academic All-District V University Division Men’s Soccer Team, chosen by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). With his selection, he is now eligible for the 2011 Capital One Academic All-America Team.

INDIANAPOLIS -- Green Bay senior Tony Walls has been named the Horizon League Men’s Soccer Player of the Year, while UIC junior Ivan Stanisavljevic earned Offensive Player of the Year accolades. Wright State’s Craig Feehan collected Newcomer of the Year honors, while Valparaiso took the other half of the League’s individual awards, in voting of the League’s coaches.

INDIANAPOLIS -- Turning in a shutout to lead Wright State to a first round bye in the Horizon League Tournament, Wright State freshman goalkeeper Craig Feehan (Pittsburgh, Pa.) has been named Horizon League Men’s Soccer Player of the Week, for the week of Oct. 31-Nov. 6. The accolade is the first of Feehan’s career.
