UIC Claims the #HLMSOC Championship Title for the Second Season in A Row

After a scoreless first half, UIC claims the 2017 #HLMSOC Championship title 2-0 with a second half surge.
The defending champions, UIC were unable to breakdown the Phoenix defense for the first 45 minutes in tonight’s matchup. All-Conference Team member, Buran Huseini put up five shots for the Phoenix, but Flames’ goalkeeper Sawyer Jackman kept a clean sheet for UIC.
Horizon League All-Tournament Team member, Markell Saddler netted the first goal of the evening at the 77th minute. Teammate and fellow Horizon League All-Tournament Team member Max Todd followed suit by scoring the second goal of the evening, leading the Flames to a 2-0 title victory.
UIC will enter the NCAA Division I Men’s Soccer Tournament for the second year in a row. The 2017 NCAA Men’s Soccer Championship bracket will be announced Monday, Nov. 13 prior to the first-round of competition.
