Green Bay Secures Top Seed as Six-Team Field Set for #HLVB Championships

INDIANAPOLIS – Green Bay (13-3) has earned the title of Horizon League Volleyball Regular Season Champions for the first time in program history. With the title, the Phoenix will host the #HLVB Championships (Nov. 16-18) and also have a bye into the semifinals. Green Bay has won three straight matches, including a five-set victory over UIC on Saturday. The Phoenix will face the lowest-remaining seed from the quarterfinals on Saturday, Nov. 17 at 3 p.m. CT.

Cleveland State (11-5) secured the number two seed and will also receive a bye into the semifinals. The Vikings will start their quest for a fourth consecutive NCAA Tournament berth on Saturday, Nov. 17 at 6 p.m. CT against the highest-remaining seed from the quarterfinals.

Northern Kentucky (11-5) earned the number three seed in the championship, aided by six straight wins to close out the regular season. The Norse will face the number six seed Wright State (7-9) in the quarterfinals on Friday, Nov. 16 at 3 p.m. CT. The Raiders and Norse split their regular season meetings with WSU defeating NKU 3-2 in Dayton, while NKU topped the Raiders 3-1 in Highland Heights.

UIC (10-6) claimed the number four seed in the tournament. The Flames will battle number five seed Milwaukee (7-9) in the second quarterfinal on Friday, Nov. 16 at 6 p.m. CT. UIC defeated the Panthers in both of their regular season matchups.

The two semifinal winners will battle for an NCAA Tournament bid in the championship match on Sunday, Nov. 18 at 2 p.m. CT. All matches of the championship will be streamed live on ESPN+. Visit championship central for more information.
