Youngstown State’s Lang and Green Bay’s Guyer Named Winter Scholar-Athletes of the Season

INDIANAPOLIS (April 9, 2026) – Youngstown State track & field junior Lukas Lang and Green Bay women’s basketball redshirt-senior Jenna Guyer have been selected as our Horizon League Winter Scholar-Athletes of the Season.

 Dig Deeper:
  • Lang won the pole vault at the Horizon League Championships for the second straight year and also earned two athlete of the week honors this season.
  • He is an Information Technology major at Youngstown State.
  • Lang is a two-time member of the Valeo Indoor #HLTF All-Academic Team.
  • Guyer was named the #HLWBB Player of the Year while also collecting All-League First Team and All-Defensive Team honors.
  • She is studying Human Biology at Green Bay and earned Valeo All-Academic Team recognition this season.
  • Guyer also earned Key4Women MVP honors after leading the Phoenix to the League title.
  • The Horizon League recognizes student-athletes at the conclusion of each of its three athletic seasons as the Scholar-Athlete of the Season.
    • To be eligible for Scholar-Athlete of the Season consideration, a student-athlete must be a member of that sport’s current year all-academic team.
    • Honorees are selected based on a combination of athletic and academic achievement by the League’s faculty athletics representatives.
