The Cleveland State men's tennis team made its fifth appearance in the NCAA Tournament Friday, falling to No. 5 Ohio State, 4-0 in the First Round.

While just missing the doubles point, the No. 5 UIC men's tennis team came back in singles and had four of its matches in three sets before No. 4 Wright State pulled away with a 4-0 win Friday in the opening round of the Horizon League Championship at North Central High School. With No. 6 Detroit upsetting No. 3 Youngstown State, the Flames will compete for fifth place against the Penguins Saturday at 8 a.m. (CT).

The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee pulled out a pair of singles matches but couldn't find two more points in falling 4-2 to Detroit Friday in the first round of the Horizon League Women's Tennis Championships. The Panthers (12-10) had a great chance to win the doubles point and were tied in the one unfinished singles match but the Titans proved to be too tough throughout their lineup. Milwaukee did get stellar performances from Kelly Fritz and Kristin Kurer, both of whom bounced back from losses to the Titans last week to claim a win. The doubles tandem of Fritz and Dana Shannon was also dominant.
