The UIC men's and women's track & field teams both finished fifth at the Horizon League Outdoor Championships after the conclusion of Sunday's events at Rynearson Stadium. Sophomore Rebecca Zaiter recorded a strong showing for the women's team, finishing second in both the 800-meter and 1,500-meter runs.

Sherice Hewett earned Second-Team All-Horizon League honors in triple jump, the Panthers went to the podium 14 times and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's track & field team posted a third-place finish at the Horizon League Outdoor Championships at Rynearson Stadium on the campus of Eastern Michigan Sunday.Milwaukee finished the championships with 109 points for third place. Loyola won the meet with 202 points and Youngstown State was runner-up at 150.5. Wright State finished fourth with 62 points, UIC was fifth at 51, Valparaiso sixth at 38.5 and Detroit closed out the scoring with 38 points.

Washington Farrington, Durell Busby, Marquis Johnson, Dexter Schleis and the 4x100m relay team were all crowned league champions as the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's track & field team won the Horizon League Outdoor Championships for a remarkable 10th-consecutive time Sunday at Rynearson Stadium on Eastern Michigan's campus.Milwaukee wrapped up its latest league title with 231 points, its most since tallying 254 points in 2006. Loyola finished second, 60 points behind the Panthers at 171. Youngstown State was third at 87, host Detroit fourth at 81, UIC fifth with 42 and Valparaiso rounded out the scoring with 37 points.

Bolstered by ten individual champions, the Loyola University Chicago women's track & field team won their first Horizon League Championship in program history this afternoon in Ypsilanti, Mich. at the Horizon League Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The men's side turned in a valiant effort, finishing second behind Milwaukee but totaling eight individual champions. Loyola head track & field coach Randy Hasenbank, who was recognized as the Women's Coach of the Year, had plenty to say about the weekend.

(5/5/2013) -- Junior Charles Anthony earned a second place finish in the 200 meters and was fourth in the 100 meters on the final day of the University of Detroit Mercy men's track and field team hosting the Horizon League Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Sunday at Rynearson Stadium in Ypsilanti, Michigan on the campus of Eastern Michigan.

Candice Carajohn broke her own school record and set a new Horizon League record in the long jump, defending her title, as the Ramblers wrapped up the second day of the Horizon League Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Ypsilanti, Mich. A total of 29 Loyola athletes qualified for tomorrow's finals as well, which easily surpasses last year's mark of 15.
