INDIANAPOLIS – After finishing the Horizon League men’s basketball regular season in second place, Detroit will continue its basketball season in the National Invitational Tournament. Seeded sixth, the Titans will take on No. 3 Arizona State on Wednesday, March 20, at 10 p.m. ET.

BOSTON – Wright State head coach Billy Donlon was named as one of 20 finalists for the 2013 Skip Prosser Man of the Year and Hugh Durham Coach of the Year awards, as announced by CollegeInsider.com.

INDIANAPOLIS -- Valparaiso sophomore infielder Brittany Duncan (Fairborn, Ohio/Fairborn) has been named Horizon League Softball Player of the Week, while Crusaders freshman Taylor Weissenhofer (Homer Glen, Ill./Lockport Township) has earned Horizon League Softball Pitcher of the Week honors, for the week of Feb. 25-March 3.

INDIANAPOLIS -- Detroit junior Ray McCallum was tabbed the Horizon League Player of the Year, becoming the first player to earn both preseason and postseason honors since 2001 in voting of the League’s coaches, sports information directors and media.

INDIANAPOLIS -- For the second consecutive season, the road to the Horizon League’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament will go through Valparaiso. The Crusaders will be the No. 1 seed for the 2013 Horizon League Men’s Basketball Tournament and will host the tournament as long as it remains alive.

Leading by three in the waning minutes of play, Detroit was stunned by Temple, 83-78, at the Liacouras Center on Thursday.

INDIANAPOLIS -- Cleveland State sophomore Jorg van der Vloet (Waalre, Netherlands) has been named the Horizon League Men’s Tennis Athlete of the Week, while Vikings freshman Ellen Folkers (Groningen, Netherlands/Belcampo, Rolingcollege Groningen) has earned Women’s Tennis honors, for the week of Feb. 18-24. The accolade is the first of both players’ careers.

INDIANAPOLIS -- Loyola junior third baseman Lauren Moore (Antioch, Ill./Antioch) has been named Horizon League Softball Player of the Week, while Ramblers junior Brittany Gardner (Orland Park, Ill./Sandburg) has earned Horizon League Softball Pitcher of the Week honors, for the week of Feb. 18-24.

The Horizon League Men’s Basketball Tournament will return to Valparaiso, Ind., after Valparaiso locked up the No. 1 seed with a come-from-behind win over Youngstown State on Tuesday night. Detroit also clinched a double-bye, using a buzzer-beater to get past Loyola. Meanwhile, Green Bay and UIC both improved their seeding possibilities with home wins.
