PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Kendrick Nunn | Oakland | R-Sr. | Guard | Chicago, Ill.
After missing three of Oakland’s previous five games due to an ankle injury, redshirt senior Kendrick Nunn put forth an inspiring effort on Saturday, scoring 32 points on 9-of-19 shooting versus second-ranked Michigan State, which leads the nation in field-goal percentage defense (.333). The Chicago native dished out a career-high seven assists in addition to connecting on five of his 12 attempts from 3-point range and converting all but one of his tries from the foul line (9-of-10). Nunn, who leads the Horizon League in scoring (23.0 ppg), assisted a Jalen Hayes 3-pointer at the 8:02 mark that tied the contest at 66-66. Nunn’s noteworthy performance came in the finale of this year’s Hitachi College Basketball Showcase double-header and in front of the largest crowd in Little Caesars Arena history (20,645).
