Meanwhile, Preseason All-Conference First Team selection, Martez Walker, matched a career high with 32 points in Oakland’s 78-73 victory, helping the Golden Grizzlies earn their first win at Western Michigan since 2000.

Jags fall at hot-shooting Ball State, 83-64

A slow start saw the Jaguars fall into a deep first half hole and a feverish second half comeback fell short on the road. In this instance, it was the Jaguars falling to in-state foe Ball State, 83-64, inside Worthen Arena.

Walker leads Oakland to 78-73 win over Western Michigan

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Martez Walker matched a career high by scoring 32 points, shooting 10 of 14 from the field including five of seven from beyond the arc as the Oakland men's basketball team took down Western Michigan 78-73 Saturday afternoon inside Read Fieldhouse. The win marked the first time since 2000 the Golden Grizzlies won in Kalamazoo.

Belmont comes back in second half to beat Green Bay, 86-75, in Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Green Bay men's basketball team held a seven-point lead at halftime at the Curb Event Center in Nashville on Saturday afternoon, but Belmont scored 51 points in the second half and the Phoenix fell 86-75. GB (2-4) racked up a season-high 12 steals and hit a season-high 10 3s, but the Bruins (5-4) made 12 3s of their own and shot 49.2 percent (29-for-59) from the field.
