(Jan. 7, 2018) — With victories on Sunday afternoon, Northern Kentucky and Wright State each improved to 4-0 in Horizon League play. NKU's Lavone Holland II hit a go-ahead jumper with 3.3 seconds remaining to lift the Norse past Detroit Mercy, 56-54. Later in the day, Wright State — propelled by double-doubles from Loudon Love (25 points, 17 rebounds) and Grant Benzinger (14 points, 10 rebounds) — defeated Oakland in overtime, 86-81.

(Courtesy of NKUNorse.com) — DETROIT — The Northern Kentucky men's basketball team ended its road trip in Michigan with a 56-54 win over Detroit Mercy on Sunday afternoon. Lavone Holland II made a long two-point jumper with 3.3 seconds left to help NKU remain perfect in Horizon League. The Norse are now 11-5 overall and 4-0 in League play. Detroit Mercy falls to 4-13 on the season and 0-4 in the Horizon League. Drew McDonald just missed out on a double-double with 16 points and nine rebounds. He led all scorers in the game. Carson Williams added 12 points and five rebounds.

Raiders impressive in overtime win at Oakland
(Courtesy of WSURaiders.com) — ROCHESTER, Mich. — The Wright State men's basketball team went to Michigan this weekend and came away with two wins as they posted an impressive win at Horizon League preseason favorite Oakland Sunday afternoon 86-81 in overtime. WSU won at Detroit Mercy Friday 80-73. Freshman Loudon Love collected his sixth double-double of the season as he dominated the Grizzlies with 25 points and 17 rebounds, both career highs. Grant Benzinger collected a double-double as well with 14 points and 10 rebounds as Mark Hughes finished with his career-best 19 points.
