INDIANAPOLIS – Oakland junior Xavier Hill-Mais scored 30 points and set seven career-highs in the season opener to be named #HLMBB Player of the Week, while Detroit Mercy’s Antoine Davis registered back-to-back 30-point performances to start his collegiate career and earned #HLMBB Freshman of the Week as the Horizon League announced its first men’s basketball weekly honors of the 2018-19 season on Monday.

Player of the Week
Xavier Hill-Mais | Oakland | RS-Junior | Greensboro, N.C. | Forward
Hill-Mais recorded a career-high 30 points and nine rebounds in Oakland's home opener against Toledo on Friday. He also went a career best 14-of-21 from the floor as he registered his first career 30-point game. The redshirt junior was just one of two Horizon League players to notch 30 points or more in the opening weekend. In all, Hill-Mais registered seven career highs against the Rockets (points, rebounds, minutes, field goals made, field goals attempted, three-pointers made and attempted).

Freshman of the Week
Antoine Davis | Detroit Mercy | Freshman | Birmingham, Ala. | Guard
The rookie put himself on the national stage in the first week of play averaging 31.0 points and posting back-to-back 30-point games on the road, while shooting 48.9 percent from the field and 44.4 percent from behind the arc. He started his collegiate career with a team-high 32 points with six triples at Western Michigan, the most points ever by a Titan freshman in his debut and the second-most points ever by a Titan in their first game. He followed that up with a team-high 30 points and another six 3-pointers at Temple. He is first Titan to post back-to-back 30-point outings since Jon Goode did it during the 2007-08 campaign.
