Horizon League Fall Contests to Air on ESPN3 and ESPN+
INDIANAPOLIS – Continuing its longstanding and innovative partnership with ESPN, the Horizon League will broadcast more than 185 volleyball, women’s soccer and men’s soccer regular season and championship contests over its digital streaming services this fall on ESPN+ and ESPN3.
ESPN+, which will host the Horizon League women’s soccer, men’s soccer and volleyball championships, offers fans thousands of live events, on-demand content and original programming not available on ESPN’s linear TV or digital networks. Fans can subscribe to ESPN+ for just $4.99 a month (or $49.99 per year) and cancel at any time.
Last year, Horizon League institutions produced over 600 live events with viewers consuming more than 30 million minutes of content, providing major visibility and highlighting the league’s 2,700 student-athletes. The Horizon League and ESPN+ partnered during its launch as the spring championships were aired on the new platform. Additionally, three member institutions – Oakland, UIC and Wright State – aired regular-season baseball content through the service.
Launched in April of 2018, ESPN+ is an integrated part of a completely redesigned ESPN App. Already the leading sports app, the new ESPN App is the premier all-in-one digital sports platform for fans offering both ESPN+ and (those fans with a pay TV subscription) access to all of ESPN’s “TV Everywhere” streaming of its linear television networks (ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, etc.) and ESPN3. ESPN+ and ESPN’s “TV Everywhere” streaming is also available on ESPN.com.
