INDIANAPOLIS – Detroit Mercy pushed its League record to 4-1 tonight after handing Green Bay its first #HLMBB loss this season, while UIC, IUPUI and Milwaukee all picked up their second HL wins to start Week 3 in the Horizon League.

Detroit Mercy 101, Green Bay 83
Green Bay suffered its first loss during League play this season as Detroit Mercy earned an 18-point victory at home. Freshman Antoine Davis and senior Josh McFolley each scored 29 points in the win. Davis went 12-of-19 from the floor and McFolley hit six triples to go along with five steals. The Phoenix were led by Kam Hankerson with 17 points with ShanQuan Hemphill and JayQuan McCloud each scoring 13 points.
Milwaukee 67, Oakland 64
In their first #HLMBB road game of the season, the Panthers earned a 67-64 win at Oakland on Thursday to improve to 2-2 in HL play. MKE was led by DeAndre Abram with 18 points on four 3-pointers and Darius Roy with 14 points going 6-of-9 from the floor. Oakland’s Jaevin Cumberland scored a game-high 19 points, while Karmari Newman added 13 points.
IUPUI 90, Cleveland State 74
The Jags made it two in a row in HL play on Thursday as they defeated Cleveland State 90-74 at home. IUPUI shot almost 60 percent from the floor as six players scored in double figures led by Elyjah Goss with 16 points and 13 rebounds. CSU had two players lead the Vikings in scoring as Jaalam Hill and Stefan Kenic each registered 18 points.
UIC 78, Youngstown State 63
The Flames made it back to .500 in League play after claiming a 78-63 win over YSU on Thursday. UIC had a pair of 20-point performances with Tarkus Ferguson tallying 23 points with seven 3-pointers and Godwin Boahen recording 21 points. Jelani Simmons was the top scorer for the Penguins with 18 points and Naz Bohannon grabbed a game-best 14 rebounds.

MOTOR CITY MADNESS
The 2019 Little Caesars Horizon League Basketball Championships will begin March 5-6 and will culminate with the semifinal and championship games on March 11-12 at Detroit’s Little Caesars Arena. The 2019 men’s and women’s championship games will take place on Tuesday, March 12 with the men playing at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN or ESPN2 and the women starting at noon ET on ESPNU. Tickets for the semifinals and championship go on-sale on February 1. Once quarterfinal games conclude on March 5 and 6, fan section information for participating teams will be announced.
