INDIANAPOLIS – Northern Kentucky grabbed first-place in the #HLMBB standings on Saturday after earning a road win paired with Detroit Mercy falling to Oakland in the Metro Series rivalry game. Green Bay, Wright State and Milwaukee also earned wins to close out Week 4 of League action.

Green Bay 90, UIC 85
Green Bay snapped a three-game losing streak on Saturday with a 90-85 win on Saturday at home over UIC. The Phoenix finished with a pair of 20-point scorers in Sandy Cohen III with 26 points and seven rebounds and JayQuan McCloud with 21. The Flames registered four players in double-figures led by Godwin Boahen finishing with 25 points, six boards and five assists.
Northern Kentucky 82, Youngstown State 74
The Norse are in sole possession of first place in the HL standings after claiming an 82-74 win on the road at Youngstown State to extend their win streak to four games. NKU’s Drew McDonald recorded 23 points on 8-of-10 shooting with seven rebounds, while Tyler Sharpe and Jalen Tate each added 13 points. The Penguins were led by Donel Cathcart with 16 points and Antwan Maxwell scored 13.
Wright State 89, Cleveland State 66
WSU made it two wins in a row with a convincing 89-66 road win at Cleveland State on Saturday. Loudon Love went 8-for-12 from the floor and finished with 23 points and eight rebounds for the Raiders, while Bill Wampler scored 21 points on 11-of-12 shooting from the free-throw line. Dibaji Walker was the leading scorer for the Vikings with 17 points with a 7-for-9 shooting performance and Jaalam Hill tallied 15.
Oakland 79, Detroit Mercy 73
The Golden Grizzlies went on the road on Saturday and outlasted their Metro Series rival Detroit Mercy, 79-73, as both teams are now tied for second place in the #HLMBB standings with identical 5-2 records. Oakland finished with two 20-point performers in Jaevin Cumberland with 24 points on 6 3-pointers and Xavier Hill-Mais with 22 points on 10 field goals. Detroit Mercy’s freshman sensation Antoine Davis finished the game with 19 points and Willy Isiani hit four triples.
Milwaukee 64, IUPUI 57
Milwaukee has now won three out of its last four games and improved to 4-3 in League action after outscoring IUPUI 42-36 in the second half en route to a 64-57 home win. Darius Roy led all scorers with 25 points by going 9-of-11 from the floor including 3-for-3 from long range for the Panthers and DeAndre Abram added 19 points and five rebounds. IUPUI had two players finish in double figures with Camron Justice scoring 17 and D.J. McCall recording 13.

MOTOR CITY MADNESS
The 2019 Little Caesars Horizon League Basketball Championships will begin March 5-6 and will culminate with the semifinal and championship games on March 11-12 at Detroit’s Little Caesars Arena. The 2019 men’s and women’s championship games will take place on Tuesday, March 12 with the men playing at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN or ESPN2 and the women starting at noon ET on ESPNU. Tickets for the semifinals and championship go on-sale on February 1. Once quarterfinal games conclude on March 5 and 6, fan section information for participating teams will be announced.
