INDIANAPOLIS – To close out the first half of #HLWBB play, IUPUI, Northern Kentucky, Wright State, and Youngstown State each went undefeated for the week.
#HLWBB NEWS & NOTES
• In this week’s College Insider Women’s Mid-Major Top 25 poll, two #HLWBB teams are ranked, with two more League teams receiving votes. Wright State moved up to 9th this week, while Green Bay checks in at 18th. Youngstown State and IUPUI both received votes in this week’s poll.
• Wright State is third nationally with 925 total rebounds this season and 13th in the country with 44.05 rebounds per game. The Raiders are also among the nation’s best in taking care of the ball. WSU is 13th in the country, averaging just 12.7 turnovers per game.
• Youngstown State is 6th in the NCAA in the category of fewest fouls per game. The Penguins are committing just 13.0 fouls per game through 20 contests this season.
• Green Bay is eighth nationally in scoring defense. The Phoenix are surrendering just 54.6 points per game this season defensively.
• IUPUI is 28th in the nation in rebound margin as the Jaguars are averaging 7.6 more rebounds per game than opponents.
• Milwaukee ranks 24th nationally in blocks. The Panthers have totaled 96 blocks this season.
• UIC’s Jada Nneji is in the top six in the country in both total blocked shots and blocked shots per game.
• YSU’s Alison Smolinski ranks in the top six nationally in three-point field goals made (68).
• Green Bay’s Jen Wellnitz ranks in the top 15 nationally in total steals and steals per game.
