INDIANAPOLIS – This week sees both Wright State and Northern Kentucky on top of the #HLMBB standings with 5-2 records, while Cleveland State picked up a pair of wins at the Battle of the Capital Tournament in Washington, D.C.
#HLMBB NEWS & NOTES
- Wright State currently sits at No. 12 on the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top-25 poll, while Northern Kentucky is also receiving votes.
- The Raiders have been led by preseason All-League First Team selection Loudon Love continues to be a force as he leads #HLMBB with three double-doubles and is averaging 13.6 points, 8.7 rebounds and shooting a League-best 59.7 percent from the field
- Preseason Player of the Year Antoine Davis of Detroit Mercy continues to lead the HL in scoring and ranks seventh in the NCAA as he is averaging 23.6 points per game, but IUPUI’s Marcus Burk is right behind him ranked eighth in the country with an identical 23.6 points per contest, while ranking third in 3-pointers per game at 4.14.
- >Northern Kentucky is one of the best teams in the nation from long range as they rank 25th in the NCAA in 3-point field goals made per game at just under 10. The Norse are also one of the best in defending the three as they hold opponents to a 26.2 3-point field goal percentage, ranked 25th in the nation.
- Youngstown State continues to hit the offensive glass as the Penguins are fifth in the NCAA in offensive rebounds per game with 15.7 and 23rd n rebounds per game at 42.8.
