INDIANAPOLIS – Friday was another exciting day of #HLMBB action as UIC earned a hard-fought victory on ESPNU, while IUPUI and Green Bay picked up big time wins at home.

IUPUI 83, Northern Kentucky 77
IUPUI handed Northern Kentucky just its second loss of the #HLMBB season on Friday with an 83-77 win at home. IUPUI’s Camron Justice hit five 3-pointers and finished with 26 points, while Jaylen Minnett recorded 18 points. Tyler Sharpe and Dantez Walton each scored 20 points for NKU and Drew McDonald added 14 points with six rebounds. The Jags shot almost 52 percent from the floor to win their third game in a row and improve to 6-4 in League play.
Green Bay 90, Milwaukee 74
Green Bay improved to 5-5 in HL play on Friday with a 90-74 win at home over Milwaukee to earn the series sweep over its in-state rival. It was a balanced scoring attack that led the way for the Phoenix with Cody Schwartz scoring 18, Josh McNair tallying 16, and Sandy Cohen III and ShanQuan Hemphill each adding 15. Milwaukee drops to 4-6 in Horizon League play as Darius Roy and Bryce Barnes each totaled 18 points and five assists.
UIC 67, Wright State 53
After a slow start and falling behind by as many as 10 points in the first half, UIC earned a regular-season sweep of Wright State with a 67-53 comeback win on ESPNU on Friday. The duo of Marcus Ottey and Tarkus Ferguson led the way offensively for the Flames and they scored 17 points each, while on the defensive end UIC held the Raiders to 28 percent shooting from the floor with just three triples. WSU’s Loudon Love ended the game with a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds and Bill Wampler also added 13 points.

MOTOR CITY MADNESS
The 2019 Little Caesars Horizon League Basketball Championships will begin March 5-6 at highest seeds and will culminate with the semifinal and championship games on March 11-12 at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit. Tickets for the semifinals and championship are on-sale now. Once quarterfinal games conclude on March 5 and 6, fan section information for participating teams will be announced.
