INDIANAPOLIS – Week 9 of the #HLMBB season began with two games on Thursday as Northern Kentucky and Wright State picked up wins to remain on top of the standings in the race for the regular-season title at 11-4.

Wright State 87, Cleveland State 61
Wright State improved to 11-4 in #HLMBB play on Thursday with an 87-61 win over Cleveland State at home. It was a total team effort as the Raiders shot 52 percent from the floor and from 3-point range and five WSU players finished in double figures. Bill Wampler led with a team-high 16 points on four triples and Parker Ernsthausen went 5-for-7 from the field for 14 points. Cleveland State had two players finish in double figures with Tyree Appleby finishing with 11 points and six assists, while Seth Millner added 11 points and six rebounds.
Northern Kentucky 76, Youngstown State 69
Northern Kentucky remained perfect at home this season and also snapped Youngstown State’s six-game winning streak on Thursday with a 76-69 victory. Drew McDonald scored a game-high 27 points for the Norse shooting 63.6 percent from the floor and a going 12-for-12 from the free-throw line with 12 rebounds. Jalen Tate also added 15 points and five assists for NKU. Naz Bohannon led the way for the Penguins with 17 points and eight rebounds, while Garrett Covington chipped in 13 points and six boards as YSU falls to 8-8 in HL play.

MOTOR CITY MADNESS
The 2019 Little Caesars Horizon League Basketball Championships will begin March 5-6 at highest seeds and will culminate with the semifinal and championship games on March 11-12 at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit.
