INDIANAPOLIS – Wright State’s Symone Simmons averaged 17.5 rebounds per game this week, along with ten points per game in the Raiders’ two wins over Cleveland State and Youngstown State this weekend. Simmons is the #HLWBB Nike® Player of the Week. Northern Kentucky freshman Taylor Clos led the Norse to a 2-0 week, averaging 15.5 points per game to earn #HLWBB Nike® Freshman of the Week honors for the first time.

Symone Simmons posted two consecutive double-doubles this week, leading the Raiders to victories over Cleveland State and Youngstown State. Simmons posted 14 points and 14 rebounds in Friday’s victory over the Vikings, and followed that performance up by posting 21 rebounds, four shy of the school record, as well as 10 points on Senior Day on Sunday.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK | TAYLOR CLOS | NORTHERN KENTUCKY | FRESHMAN | POINT GUARD | ALEXANDRIA, KY.
Taylor Clos led the Norse in scoring over the weekend as NKU went 2-0 and finished its home slate on a six-game winning streak. The rookie averaged 15.5 points per game, shooting .385 from the field and .500 from 3-point range, going 7-of-14 from beyond the arc. She also averaged 3.0 assists per game with just one turnover between the two contests, along with 2.0 rebounds and a pair of steals. In NKU’s upset of Youngstown State, Clos posted 14 points and dished out a pair of assists with no errors. She followed it up with a game-high 17 points versus Cleveland State, tying her career high in 3-pointers made with five triples while adding four more assists. Clos was also a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line over the weekend.
