INDIANAPOLIS (IUPUIJags.com) – IUPUI women's basketball has been selected to the WNIT for the fourth-straight season and will play Middle Tennessee (22-10, 13-6 C-USA) in the first round on Thursday (Mar. 21). The time of the game will be announced on Tuesday (Mar. 19).

IUPUI (20-11, 13-5) was downed by Wright State in the semifinals of the Horizon League Tournament after finishing fourth in the Horizon League this season. The Jags are led by Horizon League Player of the Year Macee Williams, who finished first in the league with 16.0 points per game and was second in the league with 8.9 rebounds per game. It will be the fourth-straight year that seniors Sydney Hall and Allex Brown have played in the WNIT, the first time in school history that a senior class has accomplished that feat.

"I am really excited for this group of young ladies to get the opportunity to play in the WNIT," said head coach Austin Parkinson. "They have been a tremendous group to work with all year and are very deserving of playing in the postseason."

Middle Tennessee finished third in Conference USA and made it to the championship game against Rice before falling 69-54 to the Owls. The Blue Raiders have three players in double figures with A'Queen Hayes leading the way at 15.5 points per game and 7.5 rebounds per game. Hayes is also the leader on the team with 94 assists. Alex Johnson (15.4 ppg) and Taylor Sutton (10.8 ppg) are second and third on the team, respectively.

This will be the first ever matchup between IUPUI and Middle Tennessee.

Last season, IUPUI was upended in the first round of the WNIT by Purdue.
