Tuesday marked the beginning of the 2019 Little Caesars Horizon League Basketball Championships, as the top seeds pervailed and will move on to play in the Motor City Madness semifinals on Monday in Little Caesars Arena. Find out who made the biggest impacts on the first day of Motor City Madness.

Michal Miller, Wright State
The junior guard led the No. 1 seeded Raiders with 22 points in the first women’s quarterfinal matchup of Motor City Madness. In the first half of the game, Miller was the first to score in the game with a jumper and went on to score 14 points in twelve minutes of play.  By the end of the game she had two rebounds, scored four three-pointers and made the last shot for the Raiders in helping Wright State to an 83-60 win over Oakland.

Sandy Cohen III, Green Bay
The Phoenix defeated UIC in a close game on the first night of Motor City Madness quarterfinal action, 82-77. After 40 minutes on the court, Cohen led Green Bay with 21 points, five rebounds and three assists. In the second half Cohen had scored 14 points, with one 3-pointer and one assist. Cohen came in clutch for the Phoenix by shooting 8-of-12 from the free-throw line.

Billy Wampler, Wright State
The top-seeded Raiders punch their ticket to Detroit after defeating IUPUI by a score of 71-56 in Dayton on Tuesday night. Wampler got off to a strong start and opened the first half of the game with 14 points, including four 3-pointers and one rebound. In the second half, he added four more points and picked up two rebounds. For the game, Wampler shot 7-for-9 from the floor and went 4-for-6 from the 3-point line.
