INDIANAPOLIS – In the third week of #HLWBB play, IUPUI and Oakland posted 2-0 records at home while Cleveland State also won its lone contest.
#HLWBB NEWS & NOTES
• In this week’s College Insider Women’s Mid-Major Top 25 poll, IUPUI moved up to No. 20 while Cleveland State and Wright State received votes.
• Cleveland State’s Mariah Miller leads the League in scoring, posting 19.3 points per game.
• IUPUI’s Macee Williams is the top rebounder among #HLWBB players, averaging 9.5 rebounds per game while also ranking second in scoring (17.3 points per game).
• Oakland’s Jalisha Terry averaged 22.0 points, 3.5 assists and 3.5 rebounds per game while shooting 11-for-27 (40.7%) and 18-for-22 (81.8%) from the free throw line helping the Golden Grizzlies go 2-0 against Green Bay and Milwaukee at home for the first time since the 2016-17 season.
• Green Bay leads the League in assist-turnover ratio so far this season (1.42).
• Youngstown State is shooting 77 percent from the charity stripe this season, best among #HLWBB squads.
• Wright State has corralled 726 rebounds this season, 42.7 per game, first in the League.
• Northern Kentucky’s Grayson Rose impacted the Norse in multiple ways over the weekend, averaging 12.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.0 steals and 2.5 blocks per game. The junior posted season highs of 12 points in both contests and shot 50.0 percent from the floor, 66.7 percent from three and 80.0 percent from the free throw line.
• Brandi Bisping averaged 14.0 points and 6.5 rebounds for Milwaukee this past weekend, helping the Panthers to a win over Detroit Mercy. The junior shot 52.6 percent from the floor and hit all eight free throw attempts. After scoring 13 points to go with nine boards in a win over Detroit Mercy, Bisping added 15 points on 6-for-11 shooting against Oakland.
• Detroit Mercy’s Zoey Oatis averaged 11.5 points and 10.5 rebounds, shooting 77-percent (10-of-13) last week for the Titans. The senior had 19 points and 12 rebounds in a setback to Milwaukee on Thursday, her fourth career double-double.
• UIC’s Jada Nneji tops the League leaderboard in blocks per game (2.1).
