INDIANAPOLIS – Week four of #HLWBB play began on Thursday with Youngstown State earning a road victory and Detroit Mercy picking up a home win.

  • Youngstown State improved to 3-3 in League play with a 79-74 road victory at Oakland on Thursday night.
  • The lead changed 14 times in the contest as the Penguins took the lead for the final time on a three-pointer by Ny'Dajah Jackson with 1:07 left to play.
  • Jackson led YSU with 23 points in the win while Gabby Lupardus added 18 points and Chelsea Olson recorded a double-double (14 points, 13 rebounds).
  • Jalisha Terry paced the Golden Grizzlies with 18 points and Kahlaijah Dean scored 15 points.
Detroit Mercy 70, Cleveland State 59
  • Detroit Mercy earned its second #HLWBB victory on Thursday night, outlasting Cleveland State, 70-59 in Calihan Hall.
  • The Titans clinched the game with a strong defensive effort, holding the Vikings to six points in the fourth quarter.
  • Markyia McCormick and Sylare Starks scored 13 points each to lead Detroit Mercy and Bridgid Fox added 12 points for the Titans.
  • Mariah Miller recorded a double-double for the Vikings with 16 points and 16 rebounds while Savanna Crockett added 17 points.

HORIZON LEAGUE BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS
The 2020 Horizon League Basketball Championships will begin March 3 and 5 at campus sites and eight teams – four men and four women – will look to advance to Indianapolis and #REACHtheHORIZON on March 9-10 at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum.

Every game of the tournament will be carried on ESPN networks and four of the six games in Indianapolis will appear on national television.
