INDIANAPOLIS – The second week of #HLWBB play opened on Thursday night with IUPUI, Northern Kentucky, and Wright State improving to 2-1 with home wins and Detroit Mercy picking up its first League victory on the road.

Wright State 78, Cleveland State 62
  • Wright State earned its second straight League victory on Thursday night, defeating Cleveland State, 78-62, at the Nutter Center.
  • Offensively, the Raiders shot 45.6 percent from the floor while the Vikings shot 33.9 percent.
  • Four players scored in double figures for WSU, led by Jada Roberson’s 17 points.
  • Savanna Crockett was the leading scorer for CSU, posting 18 points and also adding nine rebounds.
Northern Kentucky 75, Youngstown State 56
  • Northern Kentucky handed Youngstown State its first League loss, 75-56, to improve to 2-1 on Thursday night.
  • The Norse posted strong quarters to start and finish the contest, outscoring the Penguins 19-9 in the first stanza and 24-12 in the last ten minutes.
  • Emmy Souder led NKU with 19 points and Kailey Coffey added 15 for the Norse.
  • Chelsea Olson posted a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds.
IUPUI 76, Oakland 41
  • IUPUI is tied atop the standings at 2-1 after a 76-41 home win over Oakland in the Jungle on Thursday.
  • The Jaguars shot 50 percent from the field, including 55 percent from three-point range and held a rebounding advantage of 46-22 in the contest.
  • Macee Williams added another double-double for IUPUI, scoring 18 points and pulling down 13 rebounds.
  • Chloe Guingrich scored 16 points to lead the Golden Grizzlies offensively.
Detroit Mercy 70, UIC 62
  • Detroit Mercy moved to 1-1 in League play, taking down UIC, 70-62, on the road on Thursday night.
  • The Titans’ bench scored 35 points in the contest, while the Flames recorded just eight bench points.
  • Markyia McCormick led Detroit Mercy with 18 points.
  • Jada Nneji posted a career-high 21 points for the Flames.

HORIZON LEAGUE BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS
The 2020 Horizon League Basketball Championships will begin March 3 and 5 at campus sites and eight teams – four men and four women – will look to advance to Indianapolis and #REACHtheHORIZON on March 9-10 at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum.

Every game of the tournament will be carried on ESPN networks and four of the six games in Indianapolis will appear on national television.
