INDIANAPOLIS – Week five of #HLWBB play continued with two contests on Friday as Green Bay won a double overtime thriller on the road and Cleveland State defended its home court with a victory.

  • Cleveland State improved to 5-3 in #HLWBB play with a 58-49 home win over Milwaukee (3-5) in a Friday matinee.
  • It was a tight battle in each of the four quarters, with each period decided by four points or less as the Vikings outscored the Panthers by six in the second half to clinch the victory.
  • Mariah White (16 points and 4 assists) and Mariah Miller (11 points and 8 rebounds) led CSU offensively, with Savanna Crockett adding 12 rebounds and 8 points.
  • Sydney Staver scored 9 points to lead MKE and Lizzie Odegard totaled 8 points and 8 rebounds for the Panthers.
Green Bay 70, Youngstown State 63 (2 OT)
  • Green Bay (5-3) outlasted Youngstown State (4-4), 70-63, in an exciting Friday night battle that required two additional periods to determine a winner.
  • Youngstown State trailed by three points in the fourth quarter before Ny’Dajah Jackson nailed a three-pointer with four seconds remaining to send the contest into overtime.
  • After each team scored eight points in the first overtime, the Phoenix posted 14 points in the second overtime period, including 7 points from Caitlyn Hibner to seal the victory.
  • Hibner totaled 20 points and 9 rebounds on the evening, including 13 total points in the extra periods. Lyndsey Robson (13 points) and Meghan Pingel (11 points) also scored in double figures for GB.
  • Reigning Nike #HLWBB Player of the Week Chelsea Olson led the Penguins in scoring and rebounding, totaling 15 points and 13 rebounds in the setback. Jackson, Taylor Petit, and Maddie Schires also scored in double figures for YSU.

HORIZON LEAGUE BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS
The 2020 Horizon League Basketball Championships will begin March 3 and 5 at campus sites and eight teams – four men and four women – will look to advance to Indianapolis and #REACHtheHORIZON on March 9-10 at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum.

Every game of the tournament will be carried on ESPN networks and four of the six games in Indianapolis will appear on national television.
