INDIANAPOLIS – #HLWBB play tipped off Saturday with ten teams in action. Milwaukee and Wright State earned road wins while IUPUI, NKU and Oakland picked up opening day victories at home.

GAME RECAPS
NKU 61, RMU 33
- Northern Kentucky started League play off with a 61-33 home win over League newcomer Robert Morris.
- Lindsey Duvall led the Norse with an impressive effort, scoring 21 points and adding 13 rebounds and four assists.
- Ivy Turner also scored in double figures for NKU with 12 points, chipping in four rebounds and three assists as well.
- In their first game of the season, ten different Colonials scored, led by six points from Isabella Posset and Megan Callahan.
Milwaukee 61, Green Bay 58
- Milwaukee traveled to Green Bay for its League opener and came away with its first win in the Kress Center since 2014, topping the Phoenix by three points.
- Megan Walstad led the Panthers with 16 points and 8 rebounds. Sydney Staver and Bre Cera added 13 points each for MKE.
- The Panther defense held GB to 34.5 percent shooting from the floor and 24 percent (6-25) from three-point range to earn the key road victory.
- Jasmine Kondrakiewicz led the way for the Phoenix offensively with 13 points while Cassie Schiltz added 12 points.
Wright State 75, Detroit Mercy 55
- Wright State opened League play with a 75-55 road win at Detroit Mercy on Saturday afternoon.
- The Raiders jumped out to a quick start, putting up 24 points in the opening stanza to take an early lead over the Titans.
- K.K. White led WSU in scoring with 18 points while Tyler Frierson added a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
- Detroit Mercy’s Kaela Webb led all scorers with 22 points.
Oakland 76, UIC 70
- The Golden Grizzlies held on for a 76-70 home win on Saturday to begin League play.
- Oakland held a 39-27 halftime lead but the Flames responded in the second half and held a one-point lead in the final minute of the fourth quarter. A three-pointer from Jalisha Terry put the Golden Grizzlies back on top with 45 seconds to play before OAK added some free throws to seal the victory.
- Kahlaijah Dean scored a game-high 28 points for Oakland. Terry totaled 13 points.
- Jaida McCloud led the Flames with 17 points while three other UIC players scored in double figures.
IUPUI 75, Purdue Fort Wayne 36
- The reigning Horizon League champions IUPUI started off the new League season with a home win over newcomer Purdue Fort Wayne.
- The Jaguars shot 50 percent from the field while holding the Mastodons to 30 percent shooting on the defensive end.
- Macee Williams led IUPUI with 13 points while Sydney Roule added 10.
- Shayla Sellers scored eight points to lead the Mastodons offensively.
