INDIANAPOLIS – The day after Christmas marked the beginning of Week 2 of #HLMBB play with Wright State and Cleveland State remaining unbeaten in HL play, while Oakland and RMU picked up their first wins in League play.

  • The Vikings improved to 3-0 in the #HLMBB season for the first time in six seasons.
  • CSU had three players finish in double figures with Torrey Patton leading with 17 points and D’Moi Hodge adding 14.
  • Youngstown State was led by Shemar Rathan-Mayes with 17 points and Garrett Covington with 13.
  • Cleveland State shot 55.4 percent from the floor and held YSU to just 33.3 percent from the field.
Wright State 67, Green Bay 53
  • Wright State matched its 3-0 start in Horizon League play from a year ago with the win at home.
  • The Raiders registered a pair of double-doubles with Loudon Love finishing with 17 points and 14 rebounds and Tanner Holden collecting a game-high 18 points and grabbing 10 boards.
  • Green Bay was led by Amari Davis with 13 points and PJ Pipes chipped in 11.
  • WSU held a 47-30 advantage on the boards and outscored GB 44-28 in the paint.
Oakland 77, Detroit Mercy 75 (OT)
  • The Golden Grizzlies picked up their first #HLMBB win of the season in overtime as freshman Micah Parrish tipped in a layup with 4.2 seconds left in the period.
  • Parrish scored a team-best 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting and Daniel Oladapo recorded his third-straight double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds.
  • Detroit Mercy’s Bul Kuol scored a game-high 28 points on six 3-pointers and shot a perfect 8-for-8 from the free-throw line. Antoine Davis also added 18 points.
  • Oakland grabbed 20 offensive rebounds and scored 24 second-chance points.
RMU 102, Purdue Fort Wayne 88
  • In its first-ever Horizon League game, RMU picked up a win on the road over fellow HL newcomer Purdue Fort Wayne.
  • Five RMU players ended the game in double figures led by AJ Bramah with 28 points on 11-of-18 shooting with eight rebounds. Jon Williams finished with 17 points and nine assists, while Dante Treacy contributed 10 points and nine assists.
  • Purdue Fort Wayne’s Jarred Godfrey recorded 22 points becoming the only HL player to score 20-plus points in his first three #HLMBB games.    
  • The 102 points scored by the Colonials are the most scored in Horizon League play this season.
