INDIANAPOLIS – #HLWBB play opens this weekend with ten teams in action, facing the same opponents back to back on Saturday and Sunday.

#HLWBB NEWS & NOTES
• In this week’s College Insider Women’s Mid-Major Top 25 poll, IUPUI is ranked No. 9 while Green Bay (No. 19) and Milwaukee (No. 22) are also representing Horizon League women’s basketball.

• Milwaukee earned a win over cross-town rival Marquette on Wednesday, topping the Golden Eagles for the first time since December 31, 2008. Redshirt sophomore Megan Walstad had a strong outing in the MKE win, posting a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds while adding three assists and two blocks.

• IUPUI’s Sydney Roule led the Jags in scoring at Notre Dame on Sunday. Roule scored 16 points, knocking down four triples.

• Caitlyn Hibner continues to pace the Green Bay offense as the redshirt senior averaged 17 points per game for the Phoenix in their pair of games at North Dakota this weekend.

• In addition to Jaida McCloud earning Freshman of the Week honors, fellow rookie Kristian Young turned in an impressive stat line for the Flames on Saturday at Western Michigan, tallying 13 points, four rebounds, six assists and six steals. Her 13 points marked her third-straight game reaching double digits for UIC.

• Junior Lindsey Duvall is pacing the Norse with 11.3 points per game and 8.3 rebounds per game through NKU’s first four contests.

• Kaela Webb again led Detroit Mercy in scoring last week, averaging 16.5 points per game for the Titans and adding 4.0 boards and 4.0 assists per game. Webb scored a game and career-high 29 points at Toledo, hitting 11-of-25 shots and knocking down three 3-pointers, adding two boards. She posted a season-high seven assists, also tallying six rebounds and three steals earlier in the week at Michigan State.

• Purdue Fort Wayne sophomore Riley Ott led the Mastodons in scoring with 20 points in 27 minutes at Evansville on Saturday, shooting 53.3 percent from the floor and adding four assists, three rebounds and three steals.

• Angel Baker started strong offensively for Wright State as the Raiders opened the season last week. The junior averaged 17.5 points per game and tallied her first double-double of year against Bradley on Wednesday, pulling down 11 rebounds to go with her 18 points.

• Youngstown State is scheduled to make its season debut on Saturday at NKU. The Penguins are led by Preseason All-Horizon League First Team member Chelsea Olson, who averaged 12.1 points, 7.2 rebounds and 2.9 assists last season.
