INDIANAPOLIS – Oakland’s Xavier Hill-Mais led the Golden Grizzlies to back-to-back wins for the first time since early November averaging 21 points and 9.5 boards and Wright State’s Loudon Love helped the Raiders clinch a spot in Indianapolis for the Horizon League Basketball Championships by nearly posting a pair of double-doubles and averaging over 20 points a game to be named Nike® #HLMBB Co-Player of the Week. Green Bay’s Amari Davis set a Horizon League record with his ninth Nike® #HLMBB Freshman of the Week honor after tying a career-high with 28 points and jumping the Phoenix into a tie for third place in the standings.

Hill-Mais recorded a pair of 20-plus point efforts as the Golden Grizzlies knocked off Cleveland State and Youngstown State at the O'Rena for Oakland's first consecutive wins since November 9-10. The senior forward has scored 20 or more points in three-straight games and five of the last eight. Against CSU on Thursday, the Greensboro, N.C., native went for 22 points and eight boards - five coming on the offensive end in a 79-74 win. On Saturday versus Youngstown State, he capped off the weekend with 20 points, 11 rebounds, five assists and three blocks. His five helpers against YSU were a season high to go with his game-high 11 boards to complete the seventh double-double of his season.

Loudon Love | Wright State | Junior | Center | Geneva, Ill.
Love averaged 21.0 points and 8.5 rebounds over two contests this weekend, helping Wright State clinch a top-2 seed in the Horizon League Basketball Championships and a bye to Indianapolis and the semifinals. The junior started the week on Friday finishing with a game-high 24 points on 9-of-17 shooting and a 6-of-6 mark from the free-throw line, while adding a game-high nine rebounds against UIC on national television. For his efforts, Love was named ESPN SportsCenter’s ‘King of the Night’ on Friday’s late editions of the program. On Sunday, Love, wearing No. 33 to honor Ryan Custer, finished with 18 points, 14 of which came in the first half, and a game-high eight rebounds in just 23 minutes of action. He has now scored in double-figures in 13 of 14 Horizon League contests, with five games of 20-plus points.
#HLMBB Freshman of the Week
Amari Davis | Green Bay | Freshman | Guard | Trotwood, Ohio
Davis tied his career-high with a game-high 28 points on a scorching 11-for-15 shooting from the field in a 94-90 win at Milwaukee. Davis played 37 minutes and went 6-for-7 at the free throw line as well, grabbing four rebounds and netting his eighth 20-plus point performance of the season. It’s the third time this season Davis has scored 28 points, and the second time he has done so against Milwaukee. The Trotwood, Ohio-native played a key role in the run that pushed GB back in front of MKE after falling down by nine, scoring six-straight points at one point for the Phoenix. With his ninth selection, Davis now holds the Horizon League’s record for most Freshman of the Week awards in a single season set by Dikembe Dixson of UIC during the 2015-16 season.
