INDIANAPOLIS – Milwaukee’s Brandi Bisping is the Nike® #HLWBB Player of the Week for the first time in her career following a 2-0 week at home in which she averaged 20.5 points, 9.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists for the Panthers. Northern Kentucky freshman Carissa Garcia earned her second Nike® #HLWBB Freshman of the Week honor of the season as she posted 15.5 points per game for the Norse in two victories.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK | BRANDI BISPING | MILWAUKEE | JUNIOR | FORWARD | MORTON, ILL.
Bisping averaged 20.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 2.0 assists in a pair of victories for the Panthers. The junior shot 61.9 percent from the floor, 60 percent (3-for-5) from three-point range, and was a perfect 12-for-12 at the free throw line in the weekend sweep. Bisping poured in a career-high 28 points on 9-for-11 shooting on Friday, adding 11 rebounds for her second double-double of the season. In a win over Detroit Mercy, Bisping added 13 points and seven rebounds.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK | CARISSA GARCIA | NORTHERN KENTUCKY | FRESHMAN | GUARD | FORT WAYNE, IND.
Garcia averaged 15.5 points per game, shooting 47.6 percent from the field and 50.0 percent from beyond the arc to lead the Norse to a pair of wins over UIC and IUPUI. The rookie guard poured in a career-high 20 points against the Flames on 7-of-14 shooting, including 4-for-7 from beyond the arc to go with a pair of assists and three steals. She then posted 11 points, bolstered by two more triples in helping NKU snap IUPUI’s 13-game winning streak.  Garcia also led the Norse defensively with four steals over the weekend while averaging 2.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game.
