INDIANAPOLIS – Week nine of #HLWBB play continued with four games on Friday as IUPUI improved to 14-2 in League play and clinched the championship number one seed and the outright regular season title. Green Bay, Cleveland State and Youngstown State also picked up wins in today’s action.

GAME RECAPS
Green Bay 75, UIC 49
- Green Bay picked up its tenth League win of the season on Friday in an early matinee, topping host UIC, 75-49.
- The Phoenix started slow offensively, trailing 16-11 after the first quarter, but responded with 25 points in the second to take a ten-point lead into the break. After a tight third quarter, Green Bay poured in 22 points in the fourth while holding the Flames to 10 to secure a third consecutive victory.
- Caitlyn Hibner led the Phoenix with 16 points, adding 9 rebounds, while Frankie Wurtz scored 13 points and Lyndsey Robson tallied 12 points off the bench. Madison Wolf hauled in 13 rebounds for GB.
- The Flames were paced by Jada Nneji as the junior scored 13 points and added 6 rebounds.
Youngstown State 72, Detroit Mercy 66
- Youngstown State earned its second straight win on Friday, holding off Detroit Mercy, 72-66 at the Beeghly Center.
- The Penguins scored 12 of the game’s final 14 points to secure the victory in a back and forth contest that featured seven ties and eight lead changes.
- Ny'Dajah Jackson and Chelsea Olson scored 13 points each to lead YSU while Maddie Schires added 12 points on four three-pointers and McKenah Peters added 11 points.
- Freshman Sylare Starks scored 19 points and Zoey Oatis chipped in 11 to pace the Titan offense in the setback.
Cleveland State 83, Oakland 64
- Cleveland State improved to 8-7 in League play with an 83-64 home triumph over Oakland on Friday night.
- The Vikings totaled 50 points in the paint while shooting 41.9 percent from the floor in the win.
- Four CSU players posted double figure scoring efforts. Savanna Crockett led the Vikings with 21 points, Jade Ely added 19 points, Mariah White poured in 18 points and Mariah Miller contributed a double-double with 11 points and 14 rebounds.
- Kayla Luchenbach scored 17 and hauled in seven rebounds for the Golden Grizzlies.
IUPUI 60, Milwaukee 53
- IUPUI locked in the top seed for the #HLWBB championship as the Jaguars held on for a 60-53 win over Milwaukee to improve to 14-2 in League play and 11-0 in the Jungle this season.
- The Jags locked down the Panthers in the second quarter, holding MKE to six points to take a 15-point halftime lead. After a tight third quarter, the Panthers came out strong in the fourth quarter, outscoring IUPUI 21-10 but the Jags were able to hold on for a seven-point win.
- Rachel McLimore and Macee Williams totaled 14 points each for IUPUI as Holly Hoopingarner scored 12 and Katelyn O’Reilly added 10 rebounds.
- Sydney Staver scored 13 points for the Panthers and Lizzie Odegard grabbed 10 rebounds.

HORIZON LEAGUE BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS
The 2020 Horizon League Basketball Championships will begin March 3 and 5 at campus sites and eight teams – four men and four women – will look to advance to Indianapolis and #REACHtheHORIZON on March 9-10 at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum.
Every game of the tournament will be carried on ESPN networks and four of the six games in Indianapolis will appear on national television.
