INDIANAPOLIS – The ninth week of #HLWBB play came to close on Sunday as Green Bay earned a road win to move into a tie for second place in the standings while Cleveland State, Milwaukee and Oakland also picked up wins heading into the final week of the regular season.

Oakland 86, Youngstown State 73
  • Oakland earned its sixth #HLWBB win of the season on Sunday, topping Youngstown State, 86-73 on the road.
  • The Golden Grizzlies started strong offensively, scoring 30 points in the first ten minutes of action, including 11 points off YSU turnovers.
  • Chloe Guingrich posted a double-double with 23 points and 10 rebounds for Oakland while four other Golden Grizzlies also scored in double figures in the win.
  • Three Penguins scored in double digits, including Chelsea Olson, who scored 18 points and collected eight rebounds.
Cleveland State 68, Detroit Mercy 63
  • Cleveland State remains in a fifth-place tie in the League standings following a 68-63 win over Detroit Mercy.
  • After a close first quarter, the Vikings posted strong second and third quarters to take a 15-point lead into the final stanza. The Titans responded with 23 points in the final quarter, but CSU was able to hold on for the key victory.
  • Savanna Crockett had a big game for the Vikings, totaling 23 points and 13 rebounds while Mariah Miller and Mariah White also double digit scoring efforts.
  • Bridgid Fox led four Titans in double figures as she scored 15 points while Maxine Moore scored 12 and added 12 rebounds.
Green Bay 61, IUPUI 58
  • Green Bay picked up a 61-58 win over regular season champion IUPUI on the road in the Jungle on Sunday to move into a tie for the second double bye with one week remaining the regular season.
  • Trailing by four at halftime, the Phoenix outscored the Jags by six in the third and one point in the final quarter to earn the road win.
  • Frankie Wurtz led GB with 17 points as Hailey Oskey added 13 points and Madison Wolf added a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
  • Macee Williams recorded a double-double for the Jags (17 points, 11 rebounds) while Destiny Perkins added 15 points and Rachel McLimore scored 10 points.
Milwaukee 66, UIC 60
  • Milwaukee posted a 66-60 come from behind win on the road at UIC on Sunday afternoon.
  • The Panthers trailed by five heading into the final ten minutes of game action but scored 29 in the fourth to earn League victory number nine.
  • Lizzie Odegard’s 16 points led MKE while Sydney Levy (12 points) and Sydney Staver (10 points) also scored in double figures.
  • UIC’s Jada Nneji scored a game-high 24 points and Abreanna Lake and Kimiera Burks posted 12 points each.

HORIZON LEAGUE BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS
The 2020 Horizon League Basketball Championships will begin March 3 and 5 at campus sites and eight teams – four men and four women – will look to advance to Indianapolis and #REACHtheHORIZON on March 9-10 at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum.

Every game of the tournament will be carried on ESPN networks and four of the six games in Indianapolis will appear on national television.
