INDIANAPOLIS – In week six of #HLWBB play, League-leading IUPUI extended its win streak to ten games with two home triumphs while Northern Kentucky posted a 2-0 record to move into a tie for second place in the standings and Oakland earned a Metro Series victory in its only contest.
#HLWBB NEWS & NOTES
• IUPUI jumped up five spots to No. 12 in this week’s College Insider Women’s Mid-Major Top 25 Poll. Cleveland State and Wright State are also receiving votes in the poll.
• The Jaguars lead the League in several categories, including scoring offense (72.1 points), scoring defense (57.0 points), field goal percentage (.457), three-point field goal percentage (.361) and assists (16.82).
• In Northern Kentucky’s victories over Milwaukee and Green Bay this week, Molly Glick averaged 12.5 points per game for the Norse. The redshirt-senior guard shot 62.5 percent from both the field and beyond the arc, going 10-for-16 overall and 5-for-8 from 3-point range. Glick also averaged 4.5 rebounds per game, leading NKU’s guards in the statistic, and swiped a team-best three steals.
• Green Bay has posted a team assist-turnover ratio of 1.32 this season, first in the League.
• Cleveland State leads the League in field goal percentage defense (.369) and three-point field goal percentage defense (.280), as well as turnover margin (3.27) and blocked shots (4.0).
• Milwaukee’s Brandi Bisping is first in the League with a free throw percentage of .889.
• On Saturday, Kahlaijah Dean scored nine of her game-high 15 points in the second half off the bench helping Oakland rally to a 65-60 come from behind Metro Series win over arch-rival Detroit Mercy which marked the sixth consecutive victory over the Titans.
• In League games this season, Tyler Frierson has recorded 9.3 rebounds per game, first among #HLWBB players.
• UIC’s Jada Nneji is averaging 1.9 blocks per game, best among League players.
• Cleveland State’s Mariah Miller became the 30th Viking all-time to record 1,000 career points after finishing with 19 points at IUPUI on Thursday.
