Nike #HLBASE Players of the Week (March 2)
INDIANAPOLIS – Youngstown State swept this week’s Nike® #HLBASE Player of the Week awards for the second-straight week as the Penguins took two out of three games at Abilene Christian. Phillip Glasser hit .462 with three RBIs and a home run to be named Batter of the Week, while Colin Clark tossed a complete game with nine strikeouts to earn Pitcher of the Week as the Horizon League announced its weekly baseball awards on Monday.

Phillip Glasser | Youngstown State | Sophomore | Infielder | Tallmadge, Ohio
Glasser batted .462 and slugged .692 with six hits including a home run and three RBIs in 13 at-bats over three games at Abilene Christian. He recorded three runs scored, nine total bases, one walk and a .500 on-base percentage in helping YSU to a pair of victories and the series win. Glasser went 2-for-5 with a single and his first career home run in YSU’s 4-2 win on Friday. He followed that by going 4-for-5 with two RBIs and a run scored in a 9-0 victory in the series finale on Saturday. Glasser’s four hits in the contest marked a career high. The sophomore also walked and scored a run in the series opener on Thursday.
#HLBASE Pitcher of the Week
Colin Clark | Youngstown State | Junior | Left-Handed Pitcher | Circleville, Ohio
Clark scattered five hits and struck out a career-high nine batters in his first career complete game as the Penguins earned a 4-2 victory over Abilene Christian. The junior left-hander did not walk a batter, and 72 of his 98 pitches were in the strike zone. Clark surrendered a harmless two-out double in the second inning, and ACU had just two hits the rest of the game. He faced one batter over the minimum over the final seven innings, and he recorded a strikeout in seven different frames. Clark blanked the Wildcats over the final eight innings and retired 20 of the final 22 batters he faced. The junior tossed YSU’s first nine-inning complete game since April 2017.
