INDIANAPOLIS – Week five of #HLWBB play tipped off Friday with Milwaukee and Wright State earning home wins and Green Bay, Oakland and Youngstown State picking up road victories.

Milwaukee 56, Cleveland State 52
  • Milwaukee extended its winning streak to nine games and is now 9-0 in #HLWBB play with a 56-52 home victory over Cleveland State on Friday.
  • The Vikings outscored the Panthers 19-10 in the fourth quarter but MKE was able to hold on to stay perfect in League play. Miquela Santoro helped secure the win with a jumper with eight seconds left to put the Panthers up by four.
  • Santoro and Megan Walstad scored 13 points each to lead the Panthers. Walstad added 12 rebounds for a double-double and Brandi Bisping added a double-double of her own with 12 points and 15 rebounds.
  • #HLWBB scoring leader Mariah White led the Vikings with 29 points (including eclipsing the 1000-point mark for her career) while Nadia Dumas added 10 points.
Wright State 58, RMU 48
  • Wright State won its eighth straight game on Friday, topping RMU 58-48 at the Nutter Center to move to 8-1.
  • The Raiders led by just one point at the half but stretched the lead to six in the third quarter and outscored the Colonials 15-11 in the final ten minutes to secure the win.
  • Angel Baker and Jada Roberson led the Raiders offensively with 12 points each while Tyler Frierson collected 13 rebounds.
  • Esther Castedo scored 10 points to pace the Colonials.
Oakland 80, Detroit Mercy 61
  • Oakland improved to 5-4 in League play with an 80-61 triumph over Detroit Mercy at Calihan Hall on Friday.
  • The Golden Grizzlies totaled 48 points in the paint in the contest, while holding the Titans to only 24.
  • Kahlaijah Dean scored 18 points to lead the Golden Grizzlies while Autumn Kissman added 17 points and Alona Blackwell added 16 points.
  • Detroit Mercy’s Markyia McCormick scored a game-high 21 points off the bench.
Youngstown State 77, UIC 66
  • Youngstown State moved to 2-3 in #HLWBB contests with a 77-66 win at UIC on Friday.
  • It was a very back and forth game, featuring seven tie, including one at the half. The Penguins outscored the Flames 23-16 in the final quarter to lock in the victory.
  • Chelsea Olson and McKenah Peters scored 20 points each for YSU, including the 1000th career point for Olson, while Mary Dunn added 19 points for the Penguins.
  • Lindsey Rogers led the Flames with 17 points while Daijah Smith and Keona Schenck also scored in double figures for UIC.
Green Bay 62, Purdue Fort Wayne 46
  • Green Bay won its fifth straight #HLWBB contest on Friday, picking up a 62-46 road victory at Purdue Fort Wayne on Friday.
  • The Phoenix totaled 36 bench points as 11 different players scored for GB in the win. GB totaled 34 points in the paint while the Mastodons scored just 12 points in the paint.
  • Lyndsey Robson paced GB with 18 points while Sydney Levy added 16 points for the Phoenix.
  • Hannah Hess led the Mastodons with 15 points.
