INDIANAPOLIS – Friday started the second half of Horizon League play with Cleveland State winning its second-straight national television game and earning its 10th HL win. Wright State, UIC and Northern Kentucky all won on the road, while Green Bay and Oakland extended their home winning streaks.

Wright State 95, IUPUI 65
  • Wright State improved to 4-1 on the road during #HLMBB play with its fourth 30-plus point victory in four weeks.
  • All five WSU starters finished in double figures with Grant Basile scoring a game-high 28 points and Loudon Love collecting his fourth double-double during HL games with 16 points and 11 boards.
  • IUPUI’s Jaylen Minnett finished with a team-best 17 points, while Marcus Burk tallied 14 points off the bench.
  • The Raiders won the rebounding battle 44-32 and also outscored the Jags 52-32 in the paint.
UIC 67, Youngstown State 66
  • UIC won its third game in a row and improved to 5-2 in League play in dramatic fashion as Michael Diggins tipped in the game-winner as time expired.
  • Teyvion Kirk recorded his fourth double-double of the HL season with 15 points and 10 rebounds, while Rob Howard also scored 15 points and Diggins added 12 points and 10 boards for a double-double of his own.
  • YSU was led by Naz Bohannon with his fourth 20-point effort in #HLMBB games and was one rebound shy of a double-double with 20 points and nine rebounds. Michael Akuchie did register a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds.
  • The game featured 13 lead changes and neither team led by more than seven points. 3-point shooting may have proven the difference as the Flames shot 10-of-29 from distance, while the Penguins were just 3-for-14.
Green Bay 77, Purdue Fort Wayne 59
  • The Phoenix snapped a two-game losing skid, but extended their home winning streak to three games with the victory.
  • Green Bay’s bench led the offensive attack as Emmanuel Ansong nearly registered a double-double with a game-high 18 points and nine rebounds and Josh Jefferson finished with 16.
  • Jalon Pipkns scored a team-best 11 points for the Mastodons and Jarvis Walker had 10.
  • Purdue Fort Wayne came into the game as the No. 1 3-point shooting team in the country at just under 44 percent, but GB was able to hold the Mastodons to just 22 percent (4-18) shooting from 3-point range.
Oakland 86, Detroit Mercy 81
  • Oakland improved to 4-1 at home during Horizon League play and has now won four of its last six games.
  • For the Golden Grizzlies, Jalen Moore registered just the second triple-double by a HL player this season with 18 points, 14 assists and 11 rebounds. Zion Young also hit nine 3-pointers for 28 points, tied for the second most in a Division I game this season behind teammate Rashad Williams and Cleveland State’s D’Moi Hodge, who both hit 10 triples.
  • Detroit Mercy’s Antoine Davis finished with a game-high 30 points and added six assists, while Bul Kuol and Dwayne Rose Jr. each scored 15 points.
  • The Golden Grizzlies led by as many 27 points early in the second half but the Titans cut the lead to just one with 18 seconds to play thanks to a 58-point second half. Oakland was able to hold on to the victory thanks to a pair of clutch free throws by Kevin Kangu and Micah Parrish down the stretch. 
Northern Kentucky 81, RMU 76
  • Northern Kentucky ended a four-game losing slide with its first road win of the #HLMBB season.
  • Four NKU players finished in double figures led by Marques Warrick with 20 points, his fifth 20-point effort in HL play, and Trevon Faulkner added 18 points as both hit three triples.
  • AJ Bramah once again led the Colonials with his fifth 20-point performance in the last six games as he ended tallied 27 points on 10-of-16 shooting and added six boards. Jon Williams and Kam Farris ended the game with 13 points each.
  • The Norse trailed 33-31 at half, but came out of the locker room on fire as they finished the second period shooting 72 percent (18-25) from the field, including 57 percent (8-14) from behind the 3-point line.
Cleveland State 64, Milwaukee 53
  • Cleveland State is the first team to reach the double-digit win plateau in Horizon League play as the Vikings are now 10-1 on the season earning their second-straight win on ESPN linear networks.
  • CSU’s Craig Beaudion scored a season-high 25 points on 8-of-10 shooting, including 4-of-5 from behind the arc, and Torrey Patton finished with 13.
  • DeAndre Gholston scored a season-best 20 points for Milwaukee, 16 of them in the first half, while Te’Jon Lucas registered 16 points and seven rebounds.
  • It was a game of runs in the first half as the Vikings jumped out to a 23-2 advantage but the Panthers battled back to trail by just two at half. CSU was able to pull away in the second half shooting 47.8 percent (11-23) and holding MKE to just 17.9 percent (5-28) in the period.
