INDIANAPOLIS – Saturday marked the end of Week 6 in #HLMBB play with Milwaukee and Northern Kentucky earning comeback wins in overtime, Wright State and Green Bay claimed weekend sweeps, Youngstown State won at home to end a losing skid and Detroit Mercy defeated its in-state rival on the road.

GAME RECAPS
Wright State 100, IUPUI 72
- The Raiders improved to 9-3 during HL play and earned their third series sweep of the season.
- Six WSU starters finished in double figures led once again by Grant Basile with 20 points on 7-of-8 shooting including 3-for-3 from long range. Tanner Holden and Tim Finke each added 16 points and Loudon Love and Jaylon Hall chipped in 13 apiece.
- Marcus Burk ended the game with 32 points for IUPUI, his first 30-point performance of the HL season. Jaylen Minnett also added 12 points.
- Wright State reached the 100-point plateau for the first time since Feb. 16, 2019 after shooting 55.7 percent from the floor including 48.1 percent from 3-point range.
Northern Kentucky 79, RMU 74 (OT)
- Northern Kentucky completed its second weekend sweep of the season, but just its first on the road with the overtime win on Saturday.
- Five NKU players ended the game with double-digit points including four starters led by Trevon Faulkner with 18 points, 10 from the free-throw line, and Marques Warrick with 17. Adrian Nelson fell one board shy of a double-double and added 13 points.
- AJ Bramah led RMU with his fourth double-double in Horizon League play with 19 points and 10 rebounds as five Colonials finished in double figures as well. Charles Bain scored 12 points, while Kam Farris and Jon Williams had 11 each.
- The Norse trailed at half, but forced the extra period on a Bryson Langdon layup with 5.5 seconds left in regulation. NKU sealed the win by getting to the charity stripe as they went 8-for-10 from the free-throw line in the five-minute period.
Milwaukee 81, Cleveland State 80 (OT)
- Milwaukee ended a three-game losing slide and handed the Vikings just its second HL loss of the season in dramatic fashion as DeAndre Gholston scored the game-winner in overtime with only three seconds remaining.
- MKE’s Te’Jon Lucas matched a career-high with 31 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for his first double-double of the season. Gholston finished with his second-straight 20-point performance with 21 points and seven boards.
- CSU ended the game with five players in double figures led by Torrey Patton with his second double-double of the HL season with 18 points and 10 rebounds. D’Moi Hodge ended the game with 14 points, while Tre Gomillion and Chris Greene added 13.
- The Panthers trailed by 11 points with just 1:17 remaining in regulation before going on a 16-5 run with Donovan Newby scoring six of his 10 points during the stretch including hitting three free throws with 10.5 seconds to play. In overtime and trailing 80-79, MKE grabbed an offensive rebound and found Gholston who drove to the basket for the game-winner with 3.2 seconds on the clock.
Youngstown State 85, UIC 77
- The Penguins stopped a four-game losing skid and improved to 2-2 inside the Beeghly Center with the series split of the Flames.
- YSU’s Naz Bohannon became the program’s Division I leader in rebounds with nine and now has 904 for his career and added 23 points. Daniel Ogoro tallied 19 points off the bench and Garrett Covington recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 boards, while also notching his 1,000th career point.
- UIC was led by Maurice Commander with 18 points as four players registered double-digit points with Teyvion Kirk recording 16 and Braelen Bridges tallying 12 off the bench.
- Youngstown State led by as many as 18 points in the second half, but UIC was able to cut the lead to as little as four points. The Penguins were able to hold on to the victory as they went 8-for-8 from the free throw line with under a minute to play.
Green Bay 87, Purdue Fort Wayne 72
- Green Bay closed the weekend with a victory for its second series sweep at home this season and improved to 5-7 on the #HLMBB season.
- Josh Jefferson came off the bench for the Phoenix for a team-best 21 points with three 3-pointers and Amari Davis ended the game with 19 points and five assists.
- Jalon Pipkins scored a team-high 16 points for the Mastodons and Jarred Godfrey added 15 points.
- GB once again held down one of the best shooting teams in the country as Purdue Fort Wayne shot just 44 percent from the field and 29 percent from deep. The Phoenix ended the game shooting 49 percent from the floor with 10 3-pointers and missed just one free throw in 18 attempts.
Detroit Mercy 82, Oakland 72
- Detroit Mercy won its first HL road game of the season and the Titans have now won three out of their last four contests.
- Antoine Davis continues to impress for the Titans as he recorded 27 points with five 3-pointers for his fourth-straight 20-point performance and added seven assists. Noah Waterman shot 7-for-11 from the field for 18 points and Bul Kuol almost registered a double-double with 10 points and nine boards.
- The Oakland backcourt led the charge as Jalen Moore tallied his League-best seventh double-double in HL play with 23 points and 11 assists, while Rashad Williams scored a team-high 24 points on 6-of-13 shooting from behind the arc.
- The win marks the first over the Golden Grizzlies since 2017 and snaps a 10-game losing skid to its Metro Series rival.
