Nike #HLMBB Players of the Week (January 25)
INDIANAPOLIS – Wright State’s Grant Basile posted back-to-back 20-point efforts and shot nearly 80 percent from the floor to help the Raiders to a weekend sweep on the road to earn Nike® #HLMBB Player of the Week, while Northern Kentucky’s Marques Warrick averaged 18.5 points per game including his fifth 20-point game in the last eight games as the Norse went 2-0 on the road to claim Nike® #HLMBB Freshman of the Week as the Horizon League announced its men’s basketball weekly awards on Monday.

Basile becomes the third different Wright State player to win Player of the Week as he tallied a pair of 20-plus point scoring games over the weekend as Wright State swept IUPUI on the road. He finished with a new career-high 24 points on Friday, shooting 8-of-11 from the floor with a perfect 8-of-8 mark from the free-throw line, while pulling down eight rebounds. He filled his stat line with four assists and four steals as well. Basile followed that up with a 20-point effort on Saturday on 7-of-8 shooting with a new career-best three 3-pointers and 12 first-half points. He added six rebounds, two assists and two blocks in 29 minutes of action on Saturday afternoon. For the week, the redshirt sophomore averaged 22.0 points on 78.9 percent shooting, 7.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game.
#HLMBB Freshman of the Week
Marques Warrick | Northern Kentucky | Freshman | Forward | Lexington, Ky.
Warrick claims his fifth Freshman of the Week honor and third in four weeks after averaging 18.5 points per game, while shooting 54 percent (15-of-28) from the floor and 46 percent (5-of-11) from long range. The freshman began the week with a 20-point showing on Friday night, his fifth 20-plus scoring outburst in the last eight games shooting 8-of-12 from the floor, including 3-of-4 from distance. He followed that up with a 17-point effort in an overtime win to help the Norse go 2-0 on the weekend.
