INDIANAPOLIS – Week 7 of the #HLMBB season ended on Saturday with five teams earning weekend sweeps in Cleveland State, Detroit Mercy, Northern Kentucky, Oakland and Wright State, while Milwaukee was the lone squad to salvage a weekend split.

Milwaukee 83, IUPUI 76
  • Milwaukee’s win marked the second week in a row that the Panthers were able to salvage a weekend split after dropping the first game of the series.
  • DeAndre Gholston was the leading scorer for MKE with 24 points including three 3-pointers, while Te’Jon Lucas filled up the stat sheet with 14 points, seven rebounds and five assists.
  • IUPUI’s Jaylen Minnett finished with a game-high 26 points and Elyjah Goss posted his second double-double of the weekend with 10 points and 14 rebounds.
  • MKE trailed 35-29 at halftime before outscoring the Jags 54-41 in the second period as the Panthers shot 66.7 percent from the floor and hit 16 free throws in the final 20 minutes.
Northern Kentucky 69, UIC 67
  • Northern Kentucky earned its fourth-straight victory in dramatic fashion to improve to 7-5 in Horizon League play.
  • Trevon Faulkner scored a team-high 15 points and Bryson Langdon finished with 12 points including the game-winner.
  • UIC’s Braelen Bridges led all scorers with 17 points off the bench on 6-of-7 shooting from the floor with eight rebounds and Maurice Commander added 14.
  • Langdon scored the final four points for the Norse as he tied the game at 67-67 before hitting the game-winning jumper with just 1.8 second remaining in regulation.
Wright State 86, RMU 56
  • The Raiders extended its winning streak to five games with their second-straight weekend sweep and are now 11-3 in HL play.
  • Loudon Love scored a game-high 34 points on 15-made field goals and tallied his fifth double-double during HL play with 11 boards. Tanner Holden finished with 16 and Grant Basile followed a career night last night with 10 points.
  • Jon Williams scored a team-best 10 points as eight of nine RMU players that saw action scored at least four points.
  • For the fifth-straight week, Wright State won a game by 30 points or more.
Detroit Mercy 77, Youngstown State 72
  • The Titans are now .500 in Horizon League play after earning a series sweep on the road as they have now won five out of their last six games.
  • Antoine Davis posted his sixth-straight 20-point performance finishing with 24 points on four 3-pointers and added five assists, while Dwayne Rose Jr. tallied a season-best 17 points.
  • YSU’s Naz Bohannon tallied his second double-double during #HLMBB play with 20 points and 11 boards and Garrett Covington added 12 points.
  • Detroit Mercy shot 51.8 percent for the game and was able to push the ball up the court offensively as it outscored Youngstown State 17-4 in fastbreak points.
Cleveland State 73, Green Bay 65
  • Cleveland State earned its fifth weekend sweep of the season and improved to 12-2 during HL play, including 7-1 at home.
  • Three CSU players tied for the team lead in scoring as Craig Beaudion, Tre Gomillion and Algevon Eichelberger off the bench each recorded 16 points.
  • Green Bay’s Amari Davis had another impressive performance as he finished with 29 points after totaling 27 the night before.
  • The Vikings as a team shot over 50 percent from the field for the first time since Dec. 27 as they went 24-for-44 from the floor with six 3-pointers.
Oakland 82, Purdue Fort Wayne 75
  • The Golden Grizzlies have won five out of their last six games after earning its second weekend sweep on the road this season.
  • Four Oakland players finished in double figure led by Jalen Moore with 24 points, marking his League-best seventh 20-point effort in HL play, while Trey Townsend nearly posted his second-straight double-double with a career-best 19 points and nine boards.
  • Jalon Pipkins posted his first 20-point performance in Horizon League play with 21 points for the Mastodons and Bobby Planutis hit five triples.
  • Oakland went to the free-throw line 33 times in the game including going 20-for-24 from the charity stripe in the second half.
