Nike #HLVB Players of the Week (Oct. 13)
INDIANAPOLIS – Milwaukee’s Ari Miller and Northern Kentucky’s Anna Brinkmann earned Nike® #HLVB Players of the Week honors following week three of League play. Miller picked up her fourth Player of the Week award of the season, leading the Panthers to three wins, totaling 4.2 kills per set with a .461 hitting percentage. Brinkmann collected her second Player of the Week honor of the season as she posted 4.17 kills and 3.67 digs per set while hitting .345 in a 2-0 week for the Norse.

Once again, the Panthers rode the arm of Ari Miller as the junior led Milwaukee to a 3-0 week with wins over Oakland, Cleveland State, and UIC. In the three wins, Miller totaled 42 kills (4.2 per set) on .461 hitting and added five digs, two aces, and seven blocks. After putting away 12 kills in a sweep of Oakland, Miller finished with 11 kills and just one error (.588) the following night in a 3-0 win over CSU. She then capped the week with 19 kills, four blocks, and a .515 attack percentage in a 3-1 triumph against UIC. In League play, the junior leads in hitting percentage (.445), kills per set (4.35), and points per set (4.90) and the Panthers are 7-0.

Anna Brinkmann led Northern Kentucky to a 2-0 week while nearly posting two double-doubles despite playing just three sets in the sweeps. From her outside position, she hit an impressive .345 en route to averaging 4.17 kills per set while adding 3.67 digs and 0.67 blocks per set. Brinkmann opened the weekend with 13 kills at a .444 hitting clip and nine digs against Purdue Fort Wayne. In Saturday’s match versus IUPUI, she posted 12 kills and 13 digs. This is Brinkmann’s fourth career Horizon League Player of the Week Honor and second of the season.
