Nike #HLWSOC Players of the Week (October 25)
INDIANAPOLIS – Nike #HLWSOC Offensive Player of the Week honors were earned by Rachel Phillpotts who scored the game-winner for Milwaukee to help the Panthers earn the 2021 regular season title and secure the No. 1 seed for the tournament. Junior goalkeeper Annie Mason picked up this week’s Nike #HLWSOC Defensive Player of the Week award after posting a shutout against Northern Kentucky on the road.
Offensive Player of the Week
Rachel Phillpotts | Milwaukee | Graduate Student | Midfielder | Linden, Mich.
Rachel Phillpotts came through for the Panthers, scoring the eventual game-winner in the 67th minute to send Milwaukee to the regular-season title. Phillpotts ran on to a well-placed header, bringing the ball to the ground with the first touch before sending the ball past the keeper with her second touch, making it 1-0 at the 66:52 mark with her fifth goal of the fall – all of which have come in the past eight games.
Defensive Player of the Week
Annie Mason | Green Bay | Junior | Goalkeeper | Long Beach, Calif.
Mason led the Phoenix to a huge 1-0 win over #3 Northern Kentucky Saturday afternoon. Mason made five saves against the Norse and recorded her seventh shutout of the season. Mason currently sits second in the Horizon League Save Pct. leaderboard with an .815 save percentage.
