Nike #HLVB Players of the Week (Oct. 6)
INDIANAPOLIS – Milwaukee’s Madi Malone and Northern Kentucky’s Reilly Briggs earned Nike® #HLVB Players of the Week honors following the second week of League play. Malone totaled 4.44 kills per set to pick up her second Player of the Week award of the season as the Panthers improved to 4-0 in League play with a pair of wins. Briggs collected her first Player of the Week honor as she posted 3.91 kills per set and hit .434 from the right side and the Norse earned two victories.

Freshman Madi Malone had a huge week for the Panthers, helping Milwaukee to wins over Northern Kentucky and Horizon League preseason favorite Wright State. In the two wins, Malone totaled 40 kills (4.44 per set) and 26 digs (2.89 per set) while hitting .299. In Thursday’s victory over the Norse, Malone recorded a double-double of 11 kills and 12 digs. She followed that with another double-double, her seventh of the season, on Friday, totaling a career-high 29 kills to go with 14 digs. Malone shouldered the load and hit .318 in the 3-2 comeback victory against Wright State. This season, Malone leads all Horizon League freshman with 213 kills.

Reilly Briggs continued her torrid hitting pace over the last three matches, leading Northern Kentucky to a 2-1 record with two of the matches being played on the road. She averaged 3.91 kills per set, hitting .434 from her right side position. Briggs registered 17 kills behind a .414 hitting clip at Milwaukee to open the week. She ended the week with a career-high 20 kills while hitting .531 against Robert Morris.
