INDIANAPOLIS – Cleveland State and Youngstown State remain undefeated this season as the second week of #HLWBB play begins on Thursday.

#HLWBB NEWS & NOTES

  • In this week’s College Insider Women’s Mid-Major Top 25 poll, IUPUI ranked No. 20 while Cleveland State and Youngstown State received votes.
  • Cleveland State junior forward Amele Ngwafang posted 20 points on 7-8 shooting and added nine rebounds as the Vikings completed an undefeated November with a win over LIU on Sunday.
  • Youngstown State’s Lilly Ritz notched her third straight 20-point game and posted her second double-double of the season with a 20-point, 10-rebound effort in the win over LIU on Friday. Ritz was an efficient 9-for-11 from the field, and she added five steals and two blocks in 26 minutes. Over the last three games, Ritz is averaging 23 points and 8.0 rebounds while shooting a staggering 78.9 percent from the field.
  • Purdue Fort Wayne freshman Ryin Ott had another standout week in the third week of her freshman campaign, scoring an average of 11.0 points in two games for the Mastodons.
  • Rachel Kent posted 16 points, four assists, two steals and one rebound in the Jaguars’ 80-47 win over in-state foe Butler on Sunday. Her four three-pointers led the team to help the Jags tie the school record of three-pointers made in a game with 16.
  • In two games this week, Megan Walstad averaged 19.5 points and 9.5 rebounds, helping the Panthers to a win over in-state rival Wisconsin. The redshirt sophomore shot 52.1 percent (17-32) from the floor and added five assists, two blocks, and two steals for the week.
  • Northern Kentucky’s Ivy Turner earned Player of the Week honors as the Norse picked up a pair of road wins and the junior averaged a league high 22.5 points.
  • Hailey Oskey led the way for Green Bay with 14 points on Friday as the Phoenix picked up a victory over Oklahoma State in Las Vegas.
  • Kahlaijah Dean continues to lead Oakland in scoring with 18.3 points per game. Dean scored 17 points and added seven rebounds against Michigan State this week.
  • RMU earned a pair of victories this week. Phoenix Gedeon led the Colonials with 12 points against Morehead State while Esther Castedo scored 17 points in the win over Canisius.
  • UIC sophomore Kristian Young posted a double-double in UIC’s first win of the year over Valparaiso.  She tallied 14 points and a career best 11 assists.  She also contributed four rebounds and a pair of steals.
  • Irene Murua paces Detroit Mercy with 10.0 points per game and 6.83 rebounds per game this season.
  • Wright State’s Destyne Jackson is averaging 13.2 points per game for the Raiders.
